Hi there, My kid is a freshman at a private college and am completing the CSS profile for his second year of college. I am a a school teacher in MA and have a mandatory retirement through my work. Before being a public school teacher I worked at a private school and still have a TIAA-Cref retirement account although I do not put money into this account any more. What should we answer for questions PD 150, PD-160 and PD -165 of the CSS profile? Thank you very much for your help
My educated guess is that the mandatory public school teacher retirement plan would generate a “yes” response for PD-150, unless the mandatory retirement plan is union sponsored, in which case that “yes” answer would go in PD-160 instead. I think you also need to answer “yes” for PD-165 for your existing TIAA-CREF account, assuming that it is a tax-deferred plan (I’m guessing that it’s a 403(b)?).
