This situation does not apply to me, but to my closest friend whom I’m actually seeking advice for. She applied as a mechanical engineering major, like me, to several universities, UCLA, Cal Tech, Harvey Mudd, and CSU Dominguez Hills, but because of her low SAT score, which I remember she mentioned was around 1500-1600, she was only accepted to CSU Dominguez Hills. As of now she is signed up to go there, but after doing research on the school I realized that DH only has a pre-engineering program. The program, which is 2 years, offers students to take Calculus 1,2,3, Differential Equations, Physics 1,2, and Chemistry. She says she scored a passing score on the AP Chemistry exam. However, she has shown great interest in trying to transfer to a UC to complete her engineering degree. Will the UCs take her into consideration. Her situation is in fact similar to a community college student.
