[Implosion of Warren Hall on Cal State Campus - YouTube](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmyINjlnAbI)

At 9AM on Aug 17, I witnessed this event from the Kmart parking lot. This event was well observed by 1000’s of residents.

Warren Hall was completed in 1972, the demolition today was necessary because of seismic considerations. Hayward Hills lost its landmark.

Yet another landmark of my youth gone. I attended quite a few classes there.

It was not an attractive building and the classrooms were claustrophobic.

Just saw the headline and I cannot believe Warren Hall is gone. I guess I understand the reasons, having lived up in the Hayward Hills myself and felt several earthquakes, but I really enjoyed being in Warren Hall. We always went there on the 4th of July and could watch fireworks shows from San Francisco and Oakland all the way down the bay towards San Jose.

CSU Hayward (or East Bay now) was a great little university and I loved being up in the hills. I enjoyed my time there in the early 90s studying English grammar with Professor Murphy.
