Csu - my list

So I want to go to a CSU that has a great engineering program. I have 4 choices so is this a good list?

CSU SLO

CSU Chico

CSU Sacramento

CSU San Jose

Bump and bump

Obviously CSU San Luis Obispo is at the top of the list.

What are your stats?

So the rest are good though?

My stats arent great hence the CSU’s.

SAT: 1300/1600

GPA: 3.5 Weighted

I’m guessing you miss the early admission for SLO. You will have to apply by Nov 30 now and will get your decision around April or May compare to Dec if you would’ve done the early admission process.

Your stats are similar to a friend of mine and he also missed the early admission. My other friend that actually goes there told me that under a stat like yours, it is almost guaranteed admission if you would have done the early admission process. Regardless of that, I wish you the best of luck.

I think early admission deadline is Oct 31 and BINDING!

I think you should apply to CSU Pomona if you want a CSU with engineering. And if you are into US News rankings.

Thank you fellas. I really appreciate it. Too bad I missed the early decision deadline  Well lets hope all goes well.

As for UC’s, these are VERY unlikely but what do you think of this list for engineering ?

UC Berkeley

UC Davis

UC San Diego

UC Irvine

Cal Poly College of Engineering Freshman 2010 Admission Profile:

Number Applied:9,434
Number Accepted: 3,505
Acceptance rate: 37%
Avg. GPA: 4.01
Avg. ACT: 31
Avg. SAT (CR+M only): 1368

Sorry to say, you are solidly below on both GPA and test score. It will be a solid/big reach for you at Cal Poly engineering, but apply anyways, you never know. Cal Poly ED would have helped you but not by a lot.

Cal = Very High Reach
UCSD = High reach
UCD/UCI = Reach (similar admission requirements as CPSLO, but UCI engineering is probably easier to get into for you than SLO.)

Good luck! You will like Cal Poly if you ended up there. I am in engineering now, and I love it.

Also, as previous poster said, try for CP Pomona and even SJSU, and CSU LB. I think you will have a very good shot at those engineering schools. Although Cal Poly SLO is part of the CSU, it is on its own admission requirements, so don’t be discourage by that if you don’t get in.

And we call SLO, Cal Poly only, not CSU SLO.

Please don’t regret missing ED. It is for the strongest applicants.
These are generic profiles; engineering is often “better”

Note: SAT based EI is GPA * 800 + SAT CR + SAT M.

You may want to add Pomona to the list.

Ok thank you very much guys. But I can only choose four because I am getting a fee waiver. So far I am hearing…

Calpoly

Ponoma

San Jose

Chico

Sac State

Long Beach

So im thinking 1,2,3,4 because of the engineering. Sound about right? I mean I have researched the schools but every campus makes their education sound fantastic.

Long Beach should be your 4th. It is better than Chico, if your goal is to get a good education, and not a good party.

Alright BeingSLO! Lmao you got me. party up  Ok then, Long Beach it is.
