Nvm, just got an email offer rescinded I think it was because of my transcripts but I ordered them and they disappeared off my todo list but somehow they still say they were able to verify what I had reported. Oh wellā¦
@StudentAgain You should call the school and ask. Maybe they just lost your transcripts? Do you have the pre-requirements done? Do you have some lower division done? If you have at least 60 transferable units, prereqs, and some lower division done already I think you should be fine. Maybe it was a mistake when they rescinded?.
@lulu1115 Hey, thanks for your concern. I had just left a message regarding my portal and I think their response was the email where they informed me my offer was rescinded. Itās all good. Iām honestly out of energy to appeal their decision. Iāll just wait for the UCās and if not then Iāll go to CSULA.
@lulu1115 SOAR is student orientation, advising, and registration! The dates for SOAR depend on your major, but thereās a deadline to sign up for SOAR. Thereās an online portion as well as an in person portion. http://web.csulb.edu/divisions/students/soar/workshop/transfer.htm
@ggdcal @rb8991 Hello, I have a question as well. I still donāt know if I want to go to CSULB, should I still sign up for SOAR? Can I even sign up for SOAR without officially accepting admission?
I also have a general question for all of you. I was accepted to CSULB and CSULA. Being accepted to CSULB was a miracle for me, so Iām scared that my admission will be rescinded in June. Can I accept admission to both schools just in case, and then cancel the one I donāt want later?
@StudentAgain nice profile pic lol
@muzzles you can but you will lose your deposit to whichever school you decide not to attend.
@muzzles lol you too!
@muzzles lol you too!
@dogrunner1 Iāll take my chances with the deposit, I just want to make sure at least one school accepts me, thanks!
Do you know how rejecting an offer I accepted works? Would I just call?
@muzzles from what I understand emailing or calling are ok.
@muzzles Iām pretty sure Iāve read somewhere that you could only SIR to ONE school and only one. Should you change your mind and wish to SIR at a different school, youād have to notify the school you SIRd that you are withdrawing your SIR. But youāll end up losing your SIR deposit in the process.
@muzzles Hi there! I believe the steps in order to sign up for SOAR, is to fully accept the admission at CSULB. Since itās targeted towards people who are planning for registration and enrollment!
Iām unsure about accepting to more than one college at the same time, but I know deposits are only to keep the student secure after the deposit, but you withdrawal from one, then your deposit stays with them.
Iād say to call and double check, since they know more!
lol @muzzles I was thinking the same thing Iām not sure between Long Beach or Fullerton anymore. I got into both, but Fullerton has an orientation day coming up itās just to check the school out and talk to your major department. You donāt necessarily have to accept admission when doing it. However, I think with Long Beach only once you accept admission can you sign up. Iām not sure where I want to go yet, but I was surprised to even get into Long Beach as well. I have a fear if I donāt pass my Bio241 class Iām in right now, or if I drop it they will rescind my acceptance. Its the last lower division class, so I donāt think they will since its not a prereq but just the fear of the unknown is scaring me haha. Fullerton wasnāt even something I thought about before I was just set on Long Beach, and now Iām kind of liking their school too so Iām undecided. You have until May 1st, so you could wait a little longer to send the deposit. What school are you leaning towards more? CSULA, OR CSULB? Also, do you have all your prereqs done? If so I bet you will be fine and it shouldnāt get rescinded why do you think it will?
@adreezybones Dang it, thanks for the information! Iāll call to make sure. Iām really hoping thatās not the case.
@ggdcal Okay, thanks! I thought that would be the case. Iāll probably enroll over spring break then, I donāt want to miss my SOAR spot.
@lulu1115 Wow, youāre still active here! Congrats on Fullerton by the way, Iāve been reading on the forums that itās a really good school! Itās a really good feeling being accepted to nice schools when you least expect it.
I know I can wait longer to send my deposit, but I want to sign up for classes ASAP with CSULB so I donāt get stuck with a bad professor. Thatās why Iām worried.
Iām definitely more interested in CSULB. The location is beautiful, rent is cheaper, and the school has a great reputation. Iām tired of living in LA lol. I really just want to go to university though, I donāt want to be stuck in CC for another semester.
In terms of prereq, Iām not as lucky as you unfortunately. Iām finishing three prereqs this semester: Calculus I, Public Speaking, and Statistics. Public Speaking is easy, but Iām worried for Stats and Calc. I already failed my first Stats test and my professor for Calc went AWOL in the middle of the semester, so Iām being very pessimistic right now. Iām not local, so I need to finish these classes no matter what. Super, super scared right now.
Good luck with BIO 241! I would call CSULB ASAP and just drop if they let you. You donāt need more stress lol. Sorry for writing too much
@muzzles just weigh out your options for the mean time. Check schools out in person if you can during this time. Deadline for SIR is still like more than a month away. Deadline for SOAR sign up is June 1st as listed on CSULB website and SOAR for transfers wonāt be until mid-July.
Does anyone got the result from interior design major.?
@muzzles Iād definitely say to have your choice by mid April, since the deadline to accept is May 1st, so that gives you time to see if you need to turn in any documents or financial aid info for the chosen school!
Iāve heard to be rescinded an acceptance, youād have to fail a class, or get lower than a C, in one class. Iām not 100% sure on that though, but basically maintain your GPA then you should be fine!
