Thoughts on CSULB vs. CSULA for an English major?
I have been accepted to both as a transfer student for Fall 2021. As a non-traditional student I do not care about the " traditional college experience" and about being best prepared for a career and graduate school. My goal is to teach English at either the community college or high school level.
CSULB
- higher ranking CSU
- better parking from what I read online
- dedicated English Education major (rather than English Lit)
CSULA
- two of my CCC professors suggested I apply to CSULA noting networking purposes. I am not sure if the professors suggested CSULA over other CSUs because it is the closest CSU to my CCC or if there really are more opportunities (networking/student teaching/ TA/ internships) at CSULA specifically rather than CSULB due to size or something else…
- closest campus to me so shorter commute
I still have not heard back from CSUN (Northridge), UCs and one private.
