I just graduated from undergrad last month. I am looking at the History M.A. program at Cal State Northridge, and plan to get my PhD down the line at UCLA or Stanford.
My stats from undergrad are a 3.55 GPA, I am in the education honor society (I did a dual History and education major) and am applying for my teaching certificate in Washington D.C. I graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington DC. I did not take my GRE, but according to the Cal State Northridge website it says that they waive the GRE if you have a 3.0 GPA or above.
Basically, I am curious if my GPA is good enough for this to be a safety school for me, since they dont even need my GRE scores. In addition, I am curious if there is a chance I get any funding from the University if my other things like writing sample and Letters of Rec are good. I dont know if being out of state affects my chances for getting funding even at the grad school level, but going to a private university for undergrad cost me a pretty penny and would love to get any financial help I can from the school.
