CSUSM or CSUMB?

I got accepted to both CSUSM and CSUMB but I don’t know which school I should choose. It would be helpful, if anyone who is a current student at these schools or an alumni were to tell me what these schools are like so I can make my decision. Please help me out. Thanks.

Have you visited? This is the best way to figure out which school is best for you. Sure opinions are helpful, but your opinion should be the only one that matters since you will be attending for the next four years.

No, I haven’t visited neither schools. CSUMB is 5 hours away from where I live and CSUSM offers tours only during the week which makes it hard because of my schedule.

You could try to watch some Youtube video’s on both schools to at least get an idea of what these schools are like before deciding. Again, it is very hard to judge a school based on others. Even if you cannot schedule an official tour, you can still visit the campuses on the weekends when you have time.

You cannot attend the admitted student’s reception this weekend or the SoCal reception later this month for CSUMB?

How about the interactive map and self-guided tour of CSUSM:

I agree with @gubmymom - you really should find the time to visit both before making a decision. Admitted student days are great but, even a self guided weekend tour will give you some feel for the place.

Yeah, I’ve been watching some Youtube videos about both schools. I’ll try to attend the CSUMB admitted student reception if I have the day off from work. I’ll see what I can do. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

San Marcos is in a busy area of San Diego’s North County; it is in the suburbs of a former farm community.
It is a newer campus, but is largely a commuter campus. Even within San Diego County, it’s still considered a “younger brother” to it’s sister campus of SDSU. It is smaller and has a very diverse campus.
