Is Boulder a good school for majoring in journalism and mass communication?

boulder is okay for that, but if you’re seeking a big public university for journalism, try ole miss (the university of mississippi), unc chapel hill, umd, indiana university, or rutgers. those are probably among the best journalism programs for public universities.

Actually, the best public university for journalism is the university of missouri, which produces so many tv/print journalists that they’re referred to in the industry as the mizzou mafia.

Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism is one of the best in the country as well.

Referring to Journalism schools from wikipedia (not always reliable, but this seems legit):

Schools such as , Ohio University, Indiana University, Columbia University, University of Maryland, University of Missouri, Michigan State University, Northwestern University, University of Florida, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, University of California, Berkeley, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are typically considered among the best in the United States based upon the success of those who attended these institutions.

I’d just like to point out Michigan State University is on that list :p

Boulder doesn’t have a big reputation for journalism as do many other state schools (but this of course doesn’t mean that it’s not good).

ah i don’t know how i left missouri off my list…it is probably the best for big public schools in journalism…
