Are there any culinary classes available at Brown? Or can Brown students take any classes at Johnson and Wales for credit?

There are definitely no culinary classes at Brown (at least I can’t recall seeing any) and I’m pretty sure since there is no culinary arts dept, you couldnt transfer credits from another school.

You could work at The Ivy Room or The Gate.

You can always do Cooking with Rose! It’s a program where you pay a small fee and Rose (one ofthe chefs) teaches you how to, say, barbeque or something. They also had teh Chinese Food Truck guy teach one once. I’ve never done one, but they’re supposed to be fun, useful, and you get to eat whatever you make!

You could also join cooking house, which I don’t know a whole lot about, but they have really good pie that they make for fundraisers.

I dearly love the Ivy Room, but I have to say that it doesn’t really involve a whole lot of actual cooking, except maybe omelets. You will, however, learn how to cram as much stuff into a wrap as is humanly possible.
