<p>So I’ve always dreamed of going to the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) out in Napa. I want to do baking and pastry arts. I got an 1800 on the SAT and have a 3.1 GPA (yes, I know it’s horrible, I’m very ashamed. I’ve had horrible teachers). I’ve competed in baking competitions since I was 6, won numerous ribbons from faires, and have a website. My essay is pretty good, I think.</p>

<p>My question is, knowing all this, do you think I’ll get in?</p>

<p>On a side note, a family member of mine went to culinary school and ended up wasting 40k because it didn’t help him much. Just make sure you plan it out since the money goes quickly.</p>

<p>I would remove your website from here. After a while you can’t edit your post and if you get off, you may not want every employer knowing your GPA and SAT. </p>

<p>That being said for anyone looking at this thread, her website is pretty nice!</p>

<p>Your cakes do look lovely, and I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you’re young and naive, but naming your business in a way that is demeaning to people with disabilities is in really bad taste. You might want to rethink the name if you want to be taken seriously.</p>

<p>CIA is the best cooking school in the country for sure. My dad graduated from there and does some recruiting and interviews for them. Good luck!</p>

<p>Wallrus, it doesn’t matter what I think. It matters a great deal if the admissions officer at CIA, or a potential customer, has spastic cerebral palsy, or has a loved one with this diagnosis. I, personally, wouldn’t name my business something some people find offensive. Even if I, personally, did not find it offensive. It’s a poor marketing strategy.</p>
