Hi, could somebody please explain to me the difference between these two programs. I understand anthro in in Arts and Science while DSoc is in CALS, but other then that, how do students choose which of the two programs they want to study. How do the two programs differ?

Anthropology deals more with the human being’s history and developments by using past data such as fossils, relics, and other pieces of data. Development sociology is a program that studies the current world and seeks to create solutions for certain issues or dilemmas. I probably haven’t explained that well, but you can read for yourself.

[Development Sociology](<a href=“Global Development | CALS”>http://devsoc.cals.cornell.edu/)

To get into either program, you would have to apply to the appropriate college and put down the appropriate major. For a CALS application, you must list a major of study.
