Well, how is it?!?

harder than high school

it is harder then HS yes… But that is b/c it is a top uni in the nation - your going through the weeder classes. that is the point of frosh year and you need to apply your self to getting the best grades in order to succeed.

I had a friend at ND last year who was a pre-med major. Her orgo class had such a high average past midterm “A-” higher then any previous years, that the Chem dept chair said the final needed to be as tough as possible so that most will fail. that was partial a scare tactic - most students finished with a B- i believe?? but it also had to do with getting the students who were unsure about their major to decide and either drop or continue.

Dont let the fact it will be challenging deter you - no matter where you go you’ll get a difficult course load frosh year -but this does depend on the school you attend - still college is like that - as you go higher in class standing the courses become more specialized and you get a better grasp of everything

Honestly its not that bad. Do your work early and its fine. College is kinda like the week before winter break in HS. Yes there is work in every class, however when the weekend comes its going to be a blast. It really depends on what you take. English completely depends on your prof. You find ways to get your work done and everyone is in the same position as you. You’ll love it. I am. If you have any greek questions I can answer anything you like.

I have a question about greek life.

How is it? Some people say you will be looked at on campus as a clown, while others say they do very productive stuff for the community etc…

Some independents do look down on the greek system as people who buy their friends or something along those lines. But if you talk to anyone who has done it, it is the best decision they could have made. People in the house are all really welcoming. There is ALWAYS something going on at frats and sororities are invited to multiple events every weekend. Its a blast socially and the greek GPA is actually higher than the campus GPA as a whole. Greek houses do a ton of comm service, yet you can still do more with clubs if you like. Every house is different and you are without a doubt bound to find your niche.

It’s really not that hard, but it depends on your course load.
