…what are your suggestions to bring for the dorm room?
Also, …notebooks…regular and graphing, etc?
Thanks!

They will actually send you a pretty thorough list in the mail over the summer. The only things that they might not list are a mattress pad and a mouse. The mattresses are a bit hard here, but with a pad they’re fine. The mouse makes doing Solidworks homework a lot easier. I personally feel like stuff to put on your wall is nice, so your room feels more personalized, but that’s always something you can get later.

Basically, don’t overpack. You can always ship things later, and you can always go to the store later. You have a good deal of space, but a lot of things that you think you’ll use a lot, you actually won’t.

As for notebooks, I found that three-ring binders have worked well. I just transferred the stuff that was left from last semester to a new giant binder and reused them for this semester. Graphing paper could be useful, but I’ve never found that I’ve really needed it. You might want to wait to buy this stuff, though, since it’s cheaper during back to school sales.

Thanks, Spiral (Jessi, right?)! Btw,I’m the guy from CW1 whose Mom recognized you from your blog.

Any other “things I wish I had brought” thoughts out there?

Yep, Jessi I remember you, Dan. I’m glad you’re coming!
