Is the social life / drama / way people are anything like high school all over again? Is there any resemblance whatsoever?

Everyone’s experience is different, and that is truly the fact of the matter. From what I experienced, the high school drama and what not was fortunately left back in high school. And I truly believe everyone here is more mature than that (or at least with the people I hang around). Some of the sorority girls annoy me a bit, but that is an arbitrary matter. As for social life, I feel like a lot of people that went to high school together stay with the same group. It has it’s advantages. It’s nice to know a couple people going into college. Though I feel that some people aren’t as open to making friends outside that group as readily. But like I said, everyone’s experiences are different. Take this with a grain of salt. It’s a huge campus, so you’ll meet a lot of different types of people.

It depends on where you live and who you hang out with.

I would say the Greeks on campus treat it a bit like high school (and seem rather childish to me). They rely on group stuff but are weak by themselves. Also, some people get really involved in student government, and it gets kinda weird. Most students are not like this, but the ones that are are noticeable. Most people keep to themselves.

Sometimes living on campus seems like high school to me, but actually most people I meet are very nice and open to new friends. It depends on the person and how mature they are. If you live off campus, the social life is different.

Generally, I think there are some remnants of high school social life sometimes, but most of the time people are very accepting if you are respectful. Obviously, there are groups of people with different interests, but they are not really mean to each other unless provoked. One note, though, is that I think the dating/party scene can get a bit like high school, again, depending on the people involved.
