So, I’m in the last registration window and a seminar filled up I really wanted. I contacted the professor, and he said show up the first day, I can probably get in. But, until then, I’m going to have to schedule my courses under the assumption that I don’t get into that seminar and have to stay in the one I’m enrolling in with ACES. So, if things go as he says and I can get in, I’d have to switch lab days in two classes (chem23, phys41 if that matters) in order to take advantage of the seminar I want.

So, basically, how tough is it to change lab sections once you’re on campus, first week of classes?

You dont even go to lab the first week of the semester (for most labs) anyway so it should be pretty easy. Plus the first time you do go to lab (at least in chem) all you do is check to see that you have all the equipment and then go home.
Which seminar by the way?

Thanks for the response. Seminar is Han’s Phys 49S.

But I’m not talking about switching labs just to get to his class the first day. I’d have to switch lab days for the whole semester, as my labs now accomodate the seminar I’m enrolled in (T,Th) whereas Han’s is Monday, Friday. However, I was able to get one of the labs switched today when it opened up, so I’d now just have to switch my Chem 23 lab from Monday to Tuesday to make it work. How tough might this be?

Hans Physics seminar, good choice. I took it and loved going to class. I’m enrolled in his Physics 100 class for next year. He’s awesome. Yeah he’ll let you in if you come to his first few classes.

I wish I could tell you how tough that would be to switch labs. I havent been in that situation yet.

Well, it will be incredibly easy if there is space in both labs. You’ll be able to just go to ACES and drop the other labs and add new ones since itll be during drop/add period. If not, you’ll have to talk to the profossors, but they should be able to accomodate you.
