I’m still deciding on whether or not to apply. I know all the good things about Northwestern…and there are a lot of good things. It seems a little unreal. Can anyone tell me some major cons about the school?
and if anyone knows in particular about the School of Communication (r/tv/f) that would be great too. because that’s where i’m planning to apply :)

Oh dear. If you want a very simple answer, RTVF…well kind of blows. I am a junior in the program and the program itself has major issues. I think most all majors would agree with that statement. HOWEVER, I find this fact to be irrelevant. Firstly, it is a very well-known program. The school of communications has some fantastic alumni and amazing connections (ever heard of the NU Mafia that dominations LA/NYC entertainment fields?) But the most important thing for me is how fantastic of an experience the extracurriculars are (ie. Studio 22, NSTV, Inspire, etc). This is where you will learn EVERYTHING. And there are some stand out professors, but I won’t get into the intricacies of why the program isn’t what it should be. Regardless of that fact, the name Northwestern will bring you many, many opportunities in film and tv.

The North / South campus divide blows
