All y’alls help is appreciated!!!

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, do gifted honors courses carry more weight than regular honors?

bump! C’mon, help me out!

ccmbr006:

UCLA: Reach (out of state)
UCB: Reach (out of state)
Stanford: Reach
UNC-Chapel Hill: Reach (out of state)

Might want to look at Davidson and some norteastern liberal arts schools like Bucknell or Holy Cross.

What about Pomona College or Claremont McKenna?

what high school do you go to ccmbr006?

Roswell? Walton?

I went to Milton, and now I am at Alpharetta.

I was curious as to which GA public high school is considered the best.
And isn’t alpharetta a new school?

yes, it was built last summer.

I think high schools that are in the Fulton County System are the best in Georgia.

Question: Why all the Cali. schools? I think if you’re willing to fork over a lot of money to go out of state, it’d be better to go private since private schools offer a lot more personal education. However if the big campus is your thing… Go for it.

I’m at Lakeside; by top ranked I didn’t mean #1, although I think that Lakeside may be the #1 GA school outside of the Atlanta metro. Anyway, I want the Cali schools, particularly Berkeley, Stanford, UCLA, or USC because I can go thru NROTC, get my tuition paid, and get a higher quality education than @ UGA. Also, UGA doesn’t offer an NROTC program so boo on UGA.

Isn’t there a program where you can cross-enroll w/ a school?

Because you’re out of state, the UCs I think might be a bit unpredictable - though your GPA (weighted especially) is pretty good. Hm, if you like California, would you look into other UCs also (relatively safer bets) and/or USC?

I’m very certain that for UCs you’ll need the new SAT… That’s what our GC has been hammering into the junior class this year anyway.

if you were instate…in at all UC’s.

^ Yeah, you look good, for the UC’s. You have great stats, great EC’s, and I see the diversity in your activities.

My next question, would be WHY you do some of the clubs you do, and if you can prove to colleges like stanford that you do them out of passion and not “just to look diverse”

Also, you are a “strong” applicant, but not a “stand-out” applicant. I hope I’m making some sense. Boy Scouts are a GREAT EC, but don’t count SO MUCH on it either…I’ve seen many eagles go down lately.

^^
Thanks, I see what you’re saying about explaining why I do what I do. In short, I like doing all those things; I love to cook, I love to sing, and the Boy Scouting has greatly shaped who I am as a person and a leader. I also think NHS is fun!! But once again, thanks a ton for the advice about explaining why I do what I do; my activities do seem a little random…
