From the article:

From Wikipedia - [Female body shape](<a href=“Female body shape - Wikipedia)%5DFemale”>Female body shape - Wikipedia))

It says “hourglass” but goes on to say only that they compared waist to hip ratios, so does that include pear, too?

I need to know if I’m smart or not.

What shape the other 12% ?

Binx, this description is shorter than the one on wikipedia (sorry for the broken link…) and is easier to understand, since it describes the terms in inches instead of percents:

I was sort of wondering that too, Yourworld…

Here is a rather humorous look at the same subject - leave it to the Brits.
[US eggheads in spurious va-voom/intelligence linkage | The Register](US eggheads in spurious va-voom/intelligence linkage • The Register)

I know I’m really smart.

Umm I disagree! I think I’m fairly smart and I’m pretty much the same size all the way around (tiny!)

binx, well crud, I thought I would be getting my due at last.
OTOH, the waist/hip measurements cited are downright crazy - 40 something hips with a 24 inch waist? Only Barbie… or only a 17 year old with ample fat and estrogen reserves - oh wait, I just defined a good Paleozoic breeder.
I still maintian that ample-hipped ladies must be more intelligent… witness their majority on this forum!

I look like the picture of the woman on the right. What shape is that? Rotund? :)

My friend who is active on the internet dating scene says that “curvy” is how women with a serious overweight problem often describe themselves in the on-line ads. Is that what we are talking about here?

Serious overweight is big all the way around. We are talking about small waist big hip and possibly ample breasted females here, the hour-glass women.

Whats lacking in clarification is age distribution of the test subjects.
