I got a MacBook awhile back and I want to customize it some.
The first thing I want to do is change the dock icons–I got the idea because I saw someone else had done it.

I searched YouTube for a tutorial and found one that made some sense–I don’t know much about computers.

They said to use a site called Panic CandyBar. I’m not sure if this site is legitimate and was wondering if anyone knows if this site is good or if there is a better one to use.

any help is appreciated.

the things in your dock are applications, and are also in your “applications” folder. go to that folder, right-click or ctrl-click the app, and drag (or copy-paste) the picture you want onto the space where the old picture is.

CandyBar is a program, not a website.

Thanks for replying. I tried what you said and instead of replacing the icon of the application (I chose Safari), it simply placed the new icon over it- overlapping the old Safari icon. Basically it created another application that I could move around within the application folder.?

On another note, I know CandyBar is a software program (bad choice of words on my part). Is it safe to use/buy if I can’t do it myself?

Oh. Try picking “cut” from the edit menu before you paste in the new icon.

And yes, CandyBar looks safe. If they’re a legit company than it shouldn’t hurt your computer to run the software.
