In an effort to get the colors and boldface directions off of the bragging thread, I’m starting this thread.
I think this would be a good place to give instructions on how to make different colors, do boldface and italics, and whatever else you can do to customize your posts.
And also for comments about it.
I’ll start. Please don’t use yellow font. It’s impossible to see.

I did ask the mods if it was possible to separate those posts out of the bragging thread. Not sure if they’ll do it, but I do think it’s helpful (if in the wrong place!)
Just use the square brackets like you do for quotes, but write in color=red, or color=purple each time instead of the word quote.
**Use the letter b instead of the word quote to do bold. **
Take out the asterisks to make these work:
Bold
[B] blah blah [/b]
Italics
[i] blah blah [/i]
Underline
[u] blah blah [/u]
Color (red)
[color=red] blah blah [/color]
Quoted text
[quote] blah blah [/quote]
You can also post pictures but the moderators will get mad and put you in jail!

Guess not or at least not the way I tried.
I’d love a tag for gibberish, as [gibberish]whatever I say[/gibberish]. Seems appropriate.

Well, I tried. On the brag thread, I had to get a new tower for desktop, and I managed to put in Word, quicken, and get printer running. Sad to say I’m the mom of a CS guy, who could do such feats in his sleep.

Posting pics is all you have to do to be put in jail? Thought those jailed posters had a lot more fun getting there than that!

Yes, it is possible to nest commands. Here is the general logic:
[commandA] blah blah blah [commandB] blah [/commandB] [/commandA]

Bold is nice. Quotes are nice. Color? Seems like fluff. I’d rather be able to post pictures!!! SO much more meaningful!!!

We also ask the the use of colors be used sparingly, if at all, as it makes the text hard to read for some users. The only place that they should generally be used is in the results threads.
Yes. You can combine two, three, four, etc.
Quotes are very nice. It is very hard to follow along some of these conversations when the user quotes another uses with quotation marks.
