Cuts in Biglaw associate pay?

There’s talk that the starting salary for 1st year associates may be reduced by 10% to $144K:

I’d take a pay cut over getting laid off any day :)

$144k is still a lot of money. Most of the last $16k got eaten up in taxes anyways.
