For that “tell us about yourself” essay, I decided to write a musical instead ( this is fine, right?, I definitely made sure to ask around before I wrote it and my guidance counselor told me it will probably be appreciated to read)

The problem is, my musical is over 5000 characters AND 500 words (that 500 words really scared me though, as, like others who experienced this surprise, I was working on the online application that didn’t mention anything about word limit and has that special upload option)
it’s 6878 characters with spaces, 1221 words, eek. It consists of two songs and a reprise.

I’ve read some other threads about their word limit and the advice to not exceed around 800 words if possible…

however…with the musical thing, it seems all the massive wordage and extra characters come from all the names used before a lyric to show who’s singing/talking, stage directions, the many spaces involved as I wrote it in a script style, and such but I couldn’t cut them without losing who is singing/speaking and I’ve condensed my songs as much as I can already. I can’t imagine scrapping this whole thing and writing an essay instead (those PLME ones already burned me out, haha) but if I must, I must
With my own judgement, I wouldn’t cut it as I don’t think it’s dragging like an essay of 1221 words would be but just in case, is that too risky?

so, bottom line: D’you think it’d be fine to send my musical as is?
