cutting deadlines

is it common for people to submit applications on december 30th or 31st online… can it negatively affect you at cornell, or any other schools for that matter?

No, it’s fine. Even if you send it late you’re usually OK. The Adcom is there to pick the best students, not to make the students jump through hoops.

is there anything else besides a resume that we should send to enhance our cornell apps? everything on the resume is assumed to be true right… or should i send in proof of awards and stuff

music sample if you’re talented with an instrument

how did you do the music sample sparty? i know you wanted to be a music major… at home? unprofessional sounding? cuz that’s what i’m worried about

“music sample if you’re talented with an instrument”

im talented in piano, but dont intend to study or play piano at cornell… still send in a sample to show my talent though?

hollar back

yeah, if you think you’re good. guidelines are on the music website. http://www.arts.cornell.edu/music/und-recordings.html

im not a super-advanced piano player, but i think im pretty good,

can it hurt your application if they arent impressed; or will it just not help you

If they’re not impressed, it will reduce your piano ECs to a hobby, versus a reason to let you in. But if you don’t send the sample they wouldn’t regard your skills as a reason to let you in, either. So yeah, I don’t think it really can hurt. “This kid is bad at piano; lets reject him” sounds rediculous to me. Doesn’t it sound rediculous to you, too?

Would a picture, or perhaps even headshots, do good or would they just seem immature? I model (no, not runway) and I didn’t write about it at all or send photos in my ED application because I thought it would seem immature. Should I go ahead and just send them?

but runway modeling is so much cooler! If it’s something you do, or get paid for, why didn’t you put it in your application?
