Hi, I know everybody in the world is doing this, but I’m just wondering about my Midd chances. It’s highly competitive, and I know there are plenty of other great liberal arts schools I’d be happy at. Midd is just unbelievable though; it’s just perfect.
SATs: 700 math, 700 writing, 640 reading
Rank:5/149
High School: Public, but I have taken the most advanced classes available to me, which includes AP environmental science, AP calc, AP euro, AP lit, French 6, and Latin 4, as of right now.
GPA: 4.29311 (weighted, close to 3.97 unweighted)
Recommendations: 1 from a Midd alumna (I don’t know if that counts for anything), 1 from a research lab studying neuroscience (what I hope to major in) and 1 from an English teacher
Extracurriculars: 3 school clubs (in leadership, and community service), volunteer work in tutoring math to other calculus, precalc, and algebra students, 2 varsity sports (captain of one and state qualifier for the other), 9 years as a USAG gymnast (4th in Vermont (I’m from VT, does that count for anything?)), 9 years National Guild piano qualifier, National Honor Society, Dartmouth Book Award, Latin 3 Award, BU RISE (research internship in science and engineering, which is surprisingly competitive 50/270) studying neurodegenerative diseases (which is relevant to me because my father has Parkinson’s disease), 2 environmental Acadia Institute of Oceanography trips, Conservation Camp, a Brown University course on DNA, ECI foreign exchange program (with an additional informal exchange with my host sister the following year, resulting in me skipping a year of french), Governor’s Institute on Asian Cultures (which had a 2 week trip to China included, sponsored by the Freeman Foundation)

I hope this doesn’t sound cocky, I’ve just worked what feels like my entire life to be prepared to submit this application.
