CW Post or Stony Brook

Hi,
I have been accepted to both Stony Brook and CW Post as well as a bunch of other schools.

Staying with Stony Brook or CW Post means I don’t have to pay room and board, on top of the fact that I have significant scholarships to both. This means no debt after college which I think is more important than the experience of going away…Am I wrong? (Debt would be like 40K if I go away to a Suny school.

I’m tossed up as to what I should do. First let me tell you this:
Weighted GPA: 95 which I believe is a 4.0???
SAT: CR: 620 Math: 720 = 1340/1600 and 1910/2400
I have a bunch of AP and college credits.

Is it below me to go to CW Post instead of Stony Brook.

CW Post
Pros:
Close = Less money spent on gas
I can keep my current job
I can maintain a high GPA easily

Stony Brook
Pros:
It is an excellent school which could outweigh the above
Though it is further from home which means more gas and I may not be able to keep my current job.

OR I can do CW Post for 2 years then transfer to Stony Brook…is this a bad idea?

I want to go to school for business or finance. I want to be a Nassau or Suffolk police officer. Is this job also below me? Business of Finance would give me something to fall back on should something go wrong. Additionally, I could go pre-law and I do have connections should I need to fall back on law school.

I appreciate any and all input.
Thanks

Even though CW Post is private Stony Brook is just a better college overall. I am not sure how good the business program is though. If the goal is to keep your job, become a police officer, and CW Post costs the same as Stony Brook with your scholarships, then stick with Post.

If you want to be challenged more academically, then Stony Brook I think would be a better choice.
