I’m really stressed out because my MP1 grade of Calc is very poor. The teacher is very tough and other students, even my top peers, don’t have an A. I am usually a decent math student and I worked very hard this marking period but still struggled. Even if I am able to show a drastic improvement in MP2 and have my mid-year report show this positive change, will top schools from UVa to Tufts still look down upon my D+? I am currently in the A range for all of my other classes and my past grades show I have never gotten below a B for any course…
No school will like a D. Talk to your teacher about how to bring it up.
Do whatever you have to do to pick the grade up. See your teacher regularly, go through online coursework (ex. Khan academy) to reinforce ideas, do extra practice problems, if affordable get a tutor.
It happens to everyone. No need to stress over it. Just talk to the teacher about doing extra problems to reinforce the lessons and you will be fine.
