Our D got an official offer Friday from her third choice school. It was a full scholarship everything paid for except fees and books! She is excited to say the least and so are we. She is still very interested in her first 2 choices. That leads to our question how do we present this offer to the other schools without being pushy. All 3 are D1. First choice is D1 private, offer so far is 55% Second is D1 public, offer so far 35%,the third which made the 100% offer is private. Thanks for any advice joekel

I think this is what is called a “squeeze play” - that you would show the written offer from school #3 to the 2 other schools that your daughter is more interested in. They, they would (hopefully!) respond to the offer made by their competition.

Most of all though, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your daughter, and your family, must be so thrilled!! What a fabulous spot for her to be in :)

Congrat!!!

I thought you need to go to Official visit and then get offer…
I think it’s not always that way…?

Thanks for the response. We are thrilled! We just wanted to make sure how to go about talking to other schools. D realizes what a great achievement it is to have such an offer. Offer was made after July 1st the coach has been at several of her tournaments to scout her. All her hard work on the field and more importantly in the classroom has paid off Thanks again joekel

Congrats to your daughter, Joekel! Very exciting for her, and your family~

Congratulations! Let the games begin…

I think reading this and the other article in the series might be constructive if you haven’t already read them. It gives a bit of a coaches perspective as well.

The other one can be found relatively easily, I think.

^ Both great articles…even a couple of years old–they still hold alot of truth.
Just sent the one link via Facebook to our student to read…

Congrats joekel.that is great news.

Pay close attention to the time frames of the offers. We had one school change their time frame when they found out other schools were interested.

Vacationing in maine, but had to check cc on my blackberry!

Thanks for all the responses we have started to let the other schools know about the offer waiting for replies.
