Youngest daughter recently accepted at Franklin Pierce University New Hampshire… Has anyone in community taken a college visit to this school? Daughter is considering track and field. We initially applied on a whim as they have her major plus a Graduate Physician assistant program. Wondering of possibility of a 3-2 program …
Coach seems personable. Daughter would be possibly fastest 200/400 meter runner. Coach mentioned they would not make scholarship offer until FA PRE-read completed. But he stated she has times to meet our need.
I could read a ton into this. However I would rather wait and see.
If anyone has any insight into this program I would appreciate a response.
Have you visited campus? We live about an hour from there and have visited for athletic events several times. It’s in the middle of nowhere. Like, go to nowhere, then drive a little further and you’re there. Nothing against the school at all, its a pretty campus, next to a lake. A nice setting indeed. If the school is a good fit, then all the better. That said, I would recommend a visit to see if the surroundings are suitable for your daughter.
Thank you. The merit aid was fantastic… Daughter ski’s likes the out of doors…however, my biggest concern is none of her favorite restaurants, airfare costs, and boredom… She is also an artist… I am told it is beautiful… But to be aware of long winters. With one at Notre Dame it is very hard to mentally put each daughter in their own separate likes and dislikes.
I checked it out on Google earth to see just how far, ‘go to nowhere, then drive a little further’ really was. I noticed that it doesn’t look like there is an outdoor track anywhere on campus. Then looking at the schedule it appears that every meet is an away meet. So they may not really have much in the way of facilities for T&F.
Varska for the reasons you mentioned it is not on our serious consideration list. Down to 4 or 6… I’m waiting on FASFA and CSS profile before we take further visits.
