<p>I would like to see Mr. Howard’s taxes raised.</p>
<p>I believe the US constitution protects his rights to this opinion just as it protects yours.</p>

<p>It’s really a management issue. Not all players are even US citizens, so they can’t be expected to feel patriotic. But mangement needs to tell them all to stand and show respect.</p>
<p>Finally, after all these years, I finally have a reason to forgive the timberwolves for drafting ndubi ebe ahead of this guy.</p>
<p>Perhaps it is time to consider that athletes are simply … entertainers and not the saints and role models we want them to be. Just as it is plain ludicrous to think that singers and actors show much class or should be heard for their political “acumen,” we should simply raise our shoulders when one of those “role models” grabs attention with a stupid display of lack of class or intelligence. When they were growing up, our society pretended to educate them (all the way through K-12 and college) and few athletes received adequate supervision. So, where do we think they learned much of anything?</p>
<p>We should not match the stupidity of athletes by paying any attention to what they say or do outside their sport arenas. Not any more than we should pay any attention to fools such as Damon, Lohan, or Streisand, and all the other celibrities who haunt Hollywood.</p>

<p>He should fully exercise his right to free speech all the time and wear his favorite shirt instead of his team shirt to games…oh, wait, then he wouldn’t get his $11,000,000!</p>
<p>Is it any wonder they have to have dress codes for teams when they travel? Too much self-expression is detrimental to the club.</p>
<p>It wasn’t clear if he was representing his team at this particular event or if he was there as a celebrity. He can say what he wants on his own time.</p>

<p>He was at a charity football game hosted by one of his friends. He wasn’t representing anything. He’s allowed to say and think whatever he wants on his own time. Additionally, the man filming him with a camera was a friend he was joking around with. What he said was stupid and he should have thought about it first, but I’m guessing most of us have said something stupid at some point.</p>
<p>Evest, just when I think you can’t possibly best your last stupid and racist comment, you manage to do just that. Congratulations. So now you take the stupid and offensive display of one black man and use it as an excuse to denigrate blacks in general (“not having to work, feeling strangely entitled, etc.”). I bet you even think I shouldn’t have been offended by that comment…</p>

<p>I don’t exactly see why “disrespecting the national anthem” is that big of a deal with this particular case. If you ever notice during the national anthem, there’s probably 30% or more doing so every time! And how bout those “concerts” we have with the national anthem every time somebody sings it.</p>
<p>I don’t know if anyone saw Cuban’s blog yesterday. He took this stuff down after thinking it over, but for awhile he posted all the comments and emails he got regarding Josh’s remarks. If anyone doesn’t think racism is very much alive, you should have seen the horrid, disgusting comments. It is truly frightening.</p>
