Dance books?

I tried this on the Dance Major forum, but got nothing, so I'm gonna try it here. Are there any good books on Ballet, Jazz dance, and Tap. I'm a guy and there are no dance teachers in my town that teach these styles of dance.

I can't help you with books on dance technique but I am sure you could search online such as at Amazon, etc.

However, I can't imagine learning dance through a book. MAYBE a video program would work.

I don't know where you live, but in most parts of the country, you can find a dance studio in a 50 mile radius. We live in a rural area and traveled 25 miles to our dance studio every day. In my opinion, I would look beyond your town for a dance studio.

Do you have a community college near you? Sometimes they have good dance programs.

Discount Dance Supply has great selection of videos. "So YOu Want To Dance on Broadway" by Tina Paul is full of practical advice. Hope you can find a real studio to work in.
