Hi,
My daughter in interested in pursuing a BFA in dance in fall of 2025.
She is looking at Rutgers University, Mont Clair, Connecticut College, Peabody, U Mass Amherst and Loyola Marymount.
Does anyone have a student or know anyone enrolled in either of these schools?
Any information pros or cons would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
D’s friend did dance at Peabody a few years ago. The main thing to be aware of is the separation from the JHU campus which makes pursuing another major or minor quite challenging and leads to some social separation. It’s quite new (started in 2018) and in the first year they offered merit and attracted some very strong dancers for whom a discounted JHU degree was appealing. Afterwards they reverted to standard JHU need-only financial aid and supposedly the standard of dance dropped. No idea if that has changed since, but full pay is not going to result in an appealing ROI with a dance career.
If you are not already part of this FB group, I highly recommend it. Lots of great information and resources.
For my relative who had a strong interest in dance, Connecticut College made her short-list of schools to consider. However, does Conn offer a BFA program?
