Yes, Mark and Bristol were awkward last night. He was trying so hard to be positive and supportive and she was ice cold! I don’t understand why she is still in the competition. Are her mother’s supporters organized to vote for her? She is absolutely much improved from last time, but has no where near the talent of everyone else. A producer needs to take the gum out of her mouth when there are cameras around. I really like Drew, but think he may be gone tonight. Is he worse than in his first competition, or has the overall quality improved since then? I loved Shawn’s dance last night. Derek hit the jackpot, again!

Why is Bristol upset with Mark? (I haven’t caught up with this week’s recordings yet - thought she should have gone last week though)

He missed a practice and she said she felt like he was ready to be done this season, in part because he doesn’t have a Shawn or Sabrina to dance with. If he did, indeed, miss an entire practice, then that’s not cool and on him. But to bring up the other dancers makes it look like so much HS drama. That part made her look quite immature.

There was the practice he missed- but is that related to the thing that happened at rehearsal last week that they talked about? I didn’t fully understand that. Something that happened at the end of their rehearsal dance???

I didn’t hear that.

At their rehearsal dance he said that Bristol wasn’t the best dancer (or something along those lines) but that he just wanted to see her improve week to week for as long as they’re in the competition. When she saw that clip she probably wasn’t too thrilled. Sometimes the truth can hurt.

Which is why they show the drama…we are talking about it the next day.

But I do love that the rehearsal footage they show on *So You Think You Can Dance *is positive and/or silly. Why does *Dancing with the Stars *think they need to introduce negative drama?

Because many of their contestants can’t dance?

Okay, I’ve spent too much time thinking about this - which is more than 5 seconds.

When they come in the first season, they truly don’t know how to ballroom dance so we get to see them improve, how they get along with their partner and their general excitement at being on the show. Plus we get to see some clunkers, some charming sweet people - like Carson, how cute was he for a couple of weeks?

Joey Fatone said in an exit interview that this season wasn’t as fun because so many of them were really extremely competitive. And I’m sure the pros really want to win this because it honestly will probably come down to who has the best choreography.

Just watched the recap. Boy, the chemistry between Kelly and Val is something. In 2010, she broke up with her bf of 15 years, since sophomore year of HS. Maybe Val will be her new beau?

So cool the young college student putting himself through school tap dancing then getting to perform on DWTS.

OK, since this is a college admissions site, who cannot love the boy from Harlem who just danced on the results show? He used tap dancing to earn money for college at Penn State. His dance was great on DWTS and he was moved to tears when it ended…the chance to be on national TV must have meant so much. Really nice to see.

PS, I read an article that Mark did not fully miss a rehearsal, but rather he informed Bristol that he would be late one day due to family issues and made up time by staying late at the end of rehearsal. In any case, I don’t think Bristol is up to the level of any of the contestants this season.

EDIT …CROSS POSTED WITH SWIMCATSMOM!

I’m really hoping Bristol goes home.

I agreed with Drew going - though he seemed to think he was a whole lot better than he really was.

****ing ridiculous

(don’t worry, I beeped my own cussword out
really annoyed though)

Pathetic !!! Helio leaves over Bristol…

What??? I can’t believe it. The Palin camp must have a voting block or some such. I mean truly there seemed to be no question as to who was the least talented of the contestants.

Oh she’s SUCH a bad dancer. Why oh why did DWTS get Bristol back? I really hate watching this show. So many good dancers and then there are some really spoiled entertainers. … Bristol and Kirstie. Both terrible, both have no talent compared to the others.

At least Kirstie is ready to laugh at herself. But Bristol is just a daughter. What else is her talent? Oh that’s right: she got pregnant… or was it, she got pregnant even when she abstained?

at least Kirstie is fun and doesn’t take herself too seriously.

^^ Agree - they should never have brought Bristol back, it’s spoiling the show for me. Seeing Helio go and her stay is just beyond ridiculous

Just had a thought (I know, don’t strain myself) and went and checked and sure enough that old site vote for the worst is at it again.

I agree that Kirstie is not too great, but it is sorta comparing apples to oranges with the others given she is 61 years old and also doesn’t have a dancer’s body. No matter what, she is still better than Bristol. But I thought she might go too. But Bristol being “safe” is just unreal compared to the ones knocked out.
