Dancing With the Stars....here we go again

Hmmm–don’t know what a double turn is to be able to nod my head knowingly at your comment tango14. But with a name like tango14…you know that of which you speak!

On the West Coast, basketball championship game is on and DWTS is starting in 40 minutes…looks like I’m going to have to watch DWTS–after reading patsmom’s post re Maks!

Maks and Kirstie danced second to last so you can stay with the game for a while longer, ellemenope!

Game had less drama than Wendy Williams dancing…

I’m also betting on Wendy going home tonight. I have to say I won’t miss her dancing OR her personality. It’s about as sure a thing as thinking UConn was going to win last night’s basketball game with 3 minutes to play. I agree with Youdon’tsay, Petra’s dance was beautiful last night. I voted for her as well. I really like Ralph, but probably like him more as a great guy than a great dancer. I don’t think Kaarina’s personality is all that likeable and I’m also not sure she is as effective a teacher as some of the other professionals-- both are reasons why he is, imo, a long shot to win.

Bye bye Wendy. An obvious and correct outcome. But who will go next?? I am thinking it is time for Sugar Ray to exit.

I also did not get the love fest the judges had with Kendra and Romeo?
I think Chelsea is probably the best, and most consistent. But it is kind of fun not having any HUGE front runner. Once Sugar Ray goes, it could be anyone’s game depending on how spectacular they are on any particular night!

After Sugar Ray, I’m not sure who I’d want to see leave. I think I’d like Chelsea to stay around for a while. Ward Hines also. But after that…???

As a side note, there was a picture in the NY Post today of Anna Chapman, the Russian spy. She looks remarkably like the red-haired professional dancer on DWTS.

ellemenope, That would be Hines Ward:)

Please tell me the judges aren’t going to do their best impression of Ellen “Degenerous” tonight and be overly generous with their praise. Be strong, Randy, and don’t follow in JLo’s and Steven’s footsteps…

^Sorry, I’m posting the judges comment on the wrong thread!

Hines Ward–ooops, put the cart before the horse…

Speaking of Hines Ward, his dad must have been some physical specimen, because his mother is just a teeny thing. Loved his tribute to his mother!

I really enjoy the DWTS judges…

I really liked tonight’s classical music themed evening with a full orchestra, violin solos, and opera singing, but Tom Bergeron really ruined the effect. Did he not get the memo? While Len and Bruno were elegantly attired in tuxedos, he was wearing a Brown SUIT. He looked like he just got off his day job and didn’t have time to change!

Didn’t even notice that Tom wasn’t dressed up…

The music was absolutely wonderful tonight…wished my kids were here so they could have told me the names of all the pieces. They are the family’s classical music experts.

Unfortunately, Kendra once again couldn’t connect with her elegant self. That could cost her–voters might be thinking about putting her out of her misery by voting her off.

Sugar Ray is definitely getting better! He may stay longer than I thought he would…

Just want to make sure everyone realizes that Katherine Jenkins is not an opera singer. No one should think that her horrible diction and wobble are representative of a talented opera singer. It was painful. It is very disheartening that she is promoted as on opera star. I think it’s very obvious why she is popular, but there are beautiful “real” opera singers too.

Kirstie, Kirstie , Kirstie…bummer about the shoe.
Bye bye Kendra.
After that…???

Maybe we can call Katherine Jenkins an “opera-style” singer…

I did enjoy the music, but in general it’s terrible to dance to.

I think legitimate opera singers would not even give you that. It’s like calling grape juice “wine-like.”

Somewhat surprised that Kendra didn’t get the lowest amount of votes on tonight’s results show. Her dancing improved from last week and, unfortunately, Petra’s dancing didn’t-- peaking two weeks ago during her Waltz routine. Kendra’s Wednesday night’s outburst over Carrie Ann’s remarks was pretty pathetic: “What the ‘bleep’ do you mean I’m not elegant”?

I think Chelsea and Mark should have received the highest score during Wednesday night’s show instead of Hines and Kim.

I was surprised that Kendra didn’t go this time…her outburst was pretty immature. She really needs a “finishing school”–do they even have those things anymore these days? But Louie did a good job of talking her down from the ledge and was able to rehabilitate her attitude for the benefit of getting votes from the audience (oh, cynical me…)

I figured that it would be either her or Kirstie to go. I didn’t see Petra going…

With the dancers being so close, one bad dance can kill you if you don’t have a big fan base. Since the judges scores count for half of the overall score, if you get a low judges scores as Petra did, you really need the fans to keep you in. She just didn’t have that kind of support. I really enjoyed her though–very classy lady…

Chelsea and Hines Ward seem destined for the finals–but who will be the third? Seems like a real toss up.

This week, for the first time, I really liked Romeo. Didn’t care for Kendra. I voted for Petra in the past but didn’t this week. Wish I had so Kendra could be gone. She’s the weak link right now.

I liked Ralph more than the judges did. I thought this week’s whole concept was just weird – a sexy “Proud to be an American”? Dumb.
