Dancing With the Stars....here we go again

^And some of the classical music was very hard to dance to also…please, bring back Latin Week!

I thought the American themed song choice was kind of weird for Kim Johnson since she is, I believe, an Aussie?

I think the stars have followings before they even start dancing…and Petra probably just did not have a huge pre-dancing fan base.
But seriously…time for Kendra to go. After that probably Kirstie…but like I said…the original movie star fan base can go a long way.
I agree the theme was off…I am a proud American, but I do not see ballroom dancing mixed with any of those songs! It was a challenging week for the pros I am sure.

Does anyone else think Bruno’s “stand-up schtick” is getting old? I know he’s getting on Len’s nerves. Bruno stands up and gets “theatrical” after almost every dance routine. Maybe he thinks the show should change its name to “Diva” With The Stars. It’s starting to really bug me, almost as much as Mary Murphy did with her piercing shrill on So You Think You Can Dance. (Actually, not even close to Mary. Nothing is that obnoxious!)

I agree about Bruno–he used to stand up every now and then when he was really excited. Now it seems to be an every time thing. But he certainly can move his hips!

Oooh, that Kendra is just WT personified, what an obnoxious twit!

^Not that someone can’t rise from humble beginnings, but Kendra needs to get a little more refinement lessons (where’s Professor Henry Higgins when you need him?), not just for DWTS but for life with her kids. I’m guessing that she lives in a very nice neighborhood.

Maybe they shouldn’t have told us she was a stripper…

I used to enjoy Bruno’s antics, but he’s going a bit OTT for me - getting kind of cringeworthy

I was surprised and disappointed that Petra left before Kendra.

I found this weeks pairing of the music and types of dance discordant.

Petra was nice but boring and her level of ability and performance had peaked. Kendra has so much unrealized potential. She has the samba next week from what I’ve gathered through my investigations and nothing would please me more than her just rocking it. Americana theme was the most awkward in the history of the show, and is not even relevant in April. I loved Chelsea’s dance though, it was the best of the season so far. What bothered me was Hines’ hip action being praised when he didnt budge an inch during the dance and his uniform jacket covered his waist and hips entirely.

Romeo is really starting to make his move into being one of the contenders. Unfortunate that Ralph and Karina had that mishap. I hope Ralph doesn’t go home because of it. I thought Kendra danced well enough to stay around another week. She felt quite comfortable on top of the judge’s table (while the men were looking up her shirt) I must say. Between Len and Bruno, probably not much of a threat from EITHER ot these two!

Chris Jericho in bottom three and probably going home?

My guess would be Chris going home. Kendra was in her element tonight.

Poor Ralph…at first sight I thought those costumes were trouble (and not really matching?). I still think Kendra was the weak link, desk dance and all. I suppose the final will be Romeo (who was great last night), Chelsea, and the MVP. I am okay with that.

Maybe I should actually vote one time? What a concept!

Apparently shaking everything really fast can overcome less than average dancing skills. Kendra lives to dance another week!
Glad Ralph did not get the boot. Chivalry should be rewarded.

Ack, I can only see the show on Hulu, several days after. Sounds like The Model Curse has struck again…

Regarding the “classical” music night…since when is the score of the Harry Potter movies “classical” music? That and some of the other faux-classics made me grind my teeth. The “American” night was painful in the extreme. They could have actually chosen some indigenous music styles, like jazz, blues, or bluegrass, but instead they had to go with the cheesy pseudo-patriotism?

Also, the audience applauding every time there was a lift in the ballet number made me grind my teeth so loudly you could have heard it in LA! It’s like those idiots who applaud the scenery at shows, or applaud every jump in figure skating, but ignore all of the other elements.

Having a cranky moment, obviously. :)

Sorry to see Chris go–but at this time of the competition and with everyone so close, one off day and you are out.

Glad to see Kendra live to dance another day–because I really would LOVE to see her get comfortable with the ballroom dances. But she only has one more chance–next time she shanks a ballroom elegant dance, she’ll be gone.

Is it just me, but once I started noticing Romeo licking his lips all the time, I find it very distracting…

My biggest complaint is always the music, from cheesy to just plain bad. On the whole, over several seasons, tango & paso doble music is usually the worst. Monday night was particularly atrocious. How anyone could expect to dance a samba to Kirstie’s music. (Yes, I knows, it has 4 beats, so you can theoretically dance anything but a waltz to it). “Livin’ la vida loca” was the only thing close to being a decent samba, and it’s not really a samba. Poor Chris has a horrible song, too. Especially with inexperienced dancers, it is so important to have good music.

Agree with you about the music, tango14!

Tonight’s show ended on a very questionable action by Donnie Burns and Carrie Ann: You saw Donnie lean over to Carrie Ann and mouth something and then she mumbled something back to him right BEFORE he raised his paddle showing an 8. It appeared as if she was suggesting to him what score to give Romeo and Chelsie, the final dance pair. Brooke then said “we’ve got a little bit of a problem” as she was looking over at the judges and Donnie then raised a paddle showing a 7 realizing that was what he had entered on his score sheet. If Carrie Ann hadn’t whispered something to him just before he raised his paddle with the 8, I would have believed that he simply made a mistake and raised the wrong paddle. Now I think she was helping boost Romeo’s score from this guest judge, forgetting or not realizing that he had written down his score already. Earlier in the show, Donnie Burns seemed to be favoring the older dancers by giving Ralph a 10 and Kirstie a 9 on dances that really didn’t deserve those scores.

Guests judges have been a fiasco! Why have them?

Now is it time for Kirstie to go?

I was shocked that Mark Ballas made that obscene gesture when walking back to get the scores. He’s such a creep anyway but I don’t expect to see that kind of thing on a family show. Too bad, because I think Chelsea is good enough to win but I’m not sure she can, with Mark as her partner.
