I missed the obscene gesture. What did he do?

patsmom, After I read your post I replayed that segment several times, including slow motion. I couldn’t tell what that circular motion he was doing with his hand meant, but it didn’t look like an obscene geture to me. All I could decipher from the audio was “Hey Len”. Enlighten me also, if I missed something.

Mark should take Len’s judging comments to heart. The guy is still considered by many to be one of the best authorities of ballroom dance. I thought Donnie’s comment about it looking a little Hell’s Angel-ish was not off-base (and I’m a HUGE Chelsie fan) and he still gave them an 8. However, Donnie DID get worse as the show went on…

Oh come on, don’t make me spell it out for you. I’ll PM you if you want.

I don’t want to get too specific here but his fingers were held in a curled position and his wrist was moving up and down. I wasn’t sure if I saw what I thought I saw until I read the comments on TWOP that were posted after the show. Many of the posters over there interpreted it the same way.

patsmom, I didn’t re-play the segment long enough. You are absolutely RIGHT! He was definitely making THAT gesture (the gesture being we got “jerked” around, with around not being the correct word here). Wow, is all I can say. He didn’t handle the pressure very well of having momma AND his girlfriend in the audience and getting less than great scores, did he?

Patsmom, I saw it too and I have no doubt that’s exactly what it was. He needs to grow up.

I totally missed that. Hmmm. He’s been looking more and more, uh, I don’t know, unstable maybe. He’s got this really immature “my way or the highway” thing going lately. I just looked it up, and he’ll be 25 this month, so he is pretty young.

he seemed a lot nicer in previous seasons… but derek was nicer earlier on too… Now they both have been pretty D****y… Last night’s show had no real high points. Chelsie is the only one who can deliver high quality and that dance did not suit her. I loved the guest coaches but not the guest judge… everything was out of wack…

Finally, they got rid of Derek this season. I hope Mark decides not to come back either. Bring Jonathan back and give him a good partner. I didn’t see Mark’s gesture, but it doesn’t surprise me. Although Maks has attitude, too, when he gets upset it’s usually in defense of his partner. After the opening week, I thought Kirstie would improve more than she has, but she probably still has a pretty big fan base. I just love to see her and Maks together. It’s nice to see him having so much fun with his partner.

I don’t think Kendra and Louis had very much chemistry. He was so much nicer with Kelly Osborne, for example. He’s a terrific choreographer as well as dancer.

It will be interesting to see how it goes the next 2 weeks. The judges’ scores have been all over the place this season. As there are fewer contestants, the judges’ scores become pretty much meaningless. It’s all up to the popular vote. I originally predicted the 3 finalists would be Hines, Kirstie & Ralph. But other than Hines, the other two spots are kind of up in the air. I think Mark and Karina could really screw things up for their partners. Kirstie would have to really pull things together or have a bigger fan base than I think. And Chelsea will have to really kick Romeo’s game up a notch for them to be in the final 3.

I’m thinking Romeo is next to go.

I agree with tango14 about the judges scores being “all over the place”, particularly on Monday night’s show. For example, during Kirstie and Maks dance, Donnie gave them a 9 and Bruno gave them a 6. C’mon, a monkey could randomly grab numbers and have less of a differential than 3 points. Were they not watching the same performance? Also, way too many 9’s and 10’s given out for good but not outstanding dances. I didn’t think Hines and Kim deserved a 10 for that Tango of theirs. I think the final 3 will be Hines and Chelsie, with the third spot being up for grabs between Ralph, Romeo, and Kirstie.

On a positive note, I absolutely loved Val and Dasha’s Samba, the Latin dance champion’s exhibition dance during the later part of Tuesday night’s show. I also think Brook Burke is doing a much better job of reading her scripts and interviewing the dancers backstage-- doesn’t have the mono-tone quality of earlier in the season and all of last year.

Really thought it was Kirstie’s time to go this week. But Kendra went instead. Too bad–I thought she was just beginning to feel the elegant lady part.

I am thinking with 2 full dances to do next week , that Kirstie’s number will be up. But who knows? It has actually been interesting not to have an absolute front runner!

Kirstie and Romeo had great comebacks from last week. I think they both survive and Ralph goes home Tuesday night. He sure was “lobbying” for votes tonight. Even if he didn’t get the leg injury, I think his 2nd dance was really weak, compared to all the others. I give him a lot of credit for gutting it out, though. I don’t get all the love for Hines Ward, other than he he is off the charts on the likeability index. I didn’t care for either of his dances tonight. Chelsie is still heads and shoulders above the other dancers, imo, and there isn’t any drama as to who the winner should be, as far as I’m concerned. I think Carrie Ann’s 8 on her 2nd dance was possibly a pay back for her spoiled brat partner’s antics of last week. Her Salsa technique was nearly flawless and deserved higher than an 8. I loved “the talk” she had with her partner, about his behavior casting an unsavory impression of her in the voter’s eyes, during rehearsals. He’ll never change…

I didn’t think Hines deserved the high marks he got this week. He wasn’t crisp, kind of loosey-goosey. I’m guessing Romeo is gone, maybe Ralph since his scores were so much lower.

I thought Maks did a great job lifting Kirstie around in the Argentine tango. She has been losing weight–she looks positively gaunt in the face.

If I thought Ralph’s injury would not be short lived, I’d cut him loose. He seemed to be begging for votes to keep him on, because he thinks he will heal in the next two days. Bad time for an injury…it’ll take a lot of fan support to keep him in–his scores were pretty low.

I agree about Hines’ dance on Monday. You can usually notice when any of the celebs are pigeon-toed. I had never seen it before with Hines, but it sure jumped out at you in the jive. I thought Romeo & Kirstie’s dances were particularly good. Absolutely, can’t stand Mark, however good Chelsie might be. I think Ralph and Karina are pretty much finished.

I am so disappointed because I just realized I will be flying to Italy on the night of the final, so won’t get to see it live. Thank goodness for youtube.

Well, it appears that Ralph got the “sympathy” vote due to his injury. Romeo’s 2nd dance didn’t help him garner enough votes to stick around. A little bit of a surprise, but I don’t see him being in the competition after next week. Zero chemistry with Karina.

Evidently Hine’s Ward’s partner, Kym Johnson, sustained an injury that necessitated the EMT’s to stabilize her (link below). I hope and pray this was just for precautionary measures and that she will be okay. Please post if you have more information on her condition.

Wow I hope she gets better. This may be the end of the road for Hines (although it should’ve been the end about two weeks ago)…

I love chelsea Her dancing excites me but Mark is an idiot trying to make her choreo hip. Doesn’t he realize that chelsea doing any dance will already look “her age” and sell it as “hip”. Mark has never been as much of a jerk as he’s been this season. It happened with derek hough, too, starting in season 10, which is why I’m glad he’s gone. Chelsea should win but may not. I say unless Kirstie absolutely self destructs, she’s in the finals. People love inspiration.

Poor Kim! Hope she’ll be all right…
