<p>So DH and I weren’t the only ones totally distracted by the awful costume they stuck Allie Raisman with. It WAS a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen and made her look fat. Just a bad choice all the way around. I think she actually danced well, but with that outfit it was hard to tell.</p>
<p>I, too, was underwhelmed by Dorothy Hammell. She looked sweet but stiff and really out of her element. And I’m sorry, but Wynona was horrible. Her feet barely moved and the whole thing was painfully slow.</p>
<p>On the other hand, I thought Andy Dick did well but the judges were really harsh with him. I thought he had more potential and flair than some of the other guys.</p>
<p>I was watching on a DVR delay and must say that I fast forwarded through some of the dances…just made me too uncomfortable. Those contestants have some nerve (or no clue how bad they are). Bless their hearts!!</p>
<p>Lafalum, I was expecting a real train wreck with Andy Dick after the publicity about his breakdown during rehearsals. I, too, was pleasantly surprised by how well he danced, although I think the Latin dances might not go so well for him.</p>
<p>Loved Kelly Pickler and Zendaya. Val seemed really excited to have a real contender as a partner, even as young as she is.</p>
<p>Was surprised to see Lindsay Arnold as a pro – I recognized her as one of the two Lindsays from the last season of So You Think You Can Dance. Guess she’s supposed to be the Chelsie replacement.</p>
<p>It took me a minute to realize that it was actually Lindsay from SYTYCD…I’m always happy when those alums get dancing jobs.</p>
<p>Poor Aly R. …yes, way too much cleavage, but then that waterfall of hideous fringe…what woman would ever say, “Add a bunch of fringe to my front because I need my waist and belly to look larger.” But I’m firmly on Team Aly…big fan.</p>
<p>Love love love DWTS! Yes, Aly’s costume was “eye popping” and unflattering. Val was wise to keep his dance with Zendaya young and relatively innocent. After all the PDA with his partner last year he has to be above board with this 16 year old. Looks to be a fun season.</p>
<p>I totally agree Minnymom, Val was very respectful of Zendaya his 16-year-old partner-- with both the choreography and the post-dance affection. As usual, I was uncomfortable with Mark Ballas’s affection toward Alexandra (Aly). He needs to dial it down!</p>
<p>I agree with the above, Ally is from our neck of the woods so we are rooting for her. I would think it wold be uncomfortable for an older guy to dance with a 16 year old, especially the dance moves can be quite sensual. (disney girl) That Lisa whats her name with the dog, was very inhibited, and the dog needs to go. I noticed Mark had interesting earrings on, wasnt a fan either.
I think Kelly Pickler is a sweetheart, and was so touched how she shaved her head for the friend. She i agirl who grew up fairly poor, raised by her grandparents, when her om left when she was young. She really can dance</p>
<p>It would have been nice if they’d put Wynonna in a costume that camouflaged her midsection a bit, as they did for Ally. The spandex was just cruel.</p>
<p>I watched it all last night (only saw half last week) and all I can say is, “Who are these people?” I’ve never even heard of most of them. I was really impressed by Kellie Pickler. She appears to have formal dance training, and is in excellent condition. My top three would be Kellie, Zendaya and the football player. The rest can go…as quickly as possible.</p>
<p>I am feeling sympathetic for DL Hughley. He seemed so discouraged. It appears that he worked very hard and was the most improved. Maybe the fans will save him. There are a handful of noticeably weaker dancers. Kellie and Zendaya have come in with a huge advantage from previous experience. Anyone else disturbed by how skinny they are? They seem unhealthy thin to me!</p>
<p>Kellie, Zendaya, and Ally have definitely separated themselves from the pack. Now it will be interesting to see if Karina can turn Jacoby into a ballroom dancer. If he is still around when the freestyle comes into play, that should be really fun to watch. My favorite is definitely Kellie. She and Derek are a perfectly matched couple!</p>
<p>I don’t know who many of these contestants are either. I remember Kellie Pickler from American Idol but I had no idea she had done anything since she was a contestant. I’m rooting for Jacoby Jones because I’m in Baltimore.</p>
<p>I think Jacoby has a chance to win this. He was surprisingly good tonight and he has a big personality. It will be interesting to see how he handles the different genres in the coming weeks.</p>
