Well said, coskat.

Generally, what did you guys think of Julianne? I hope Bill E sticks around a bit longer. I think that the early “you are safe” announcement may hurt them since his fans might not have voted after that. The one night format (which I do like) means that you may be voting for this week before the previous week’s elimination is announced. I continue to be amazed by the fake tans, make up, wigs, and skimpy clothing. I stick around for the dancing and Tom B. I was happy Valerie made it as far as she did and loved her attitude. The producers “OWE” Tristan a contender next season. He is a doll.

I love Julianne as a professional dancer, but as a judge, meh. I’m so happy with the original three judges, tho, and am glad they don’t tamper much with that. It wasn’t that Julianne was a poor judge, just doesn’t have the same connection to the other two judges like Len does. I’m wondering if they’ ever bring Maks on as a judge…like to see the sparks fly there!

Agree that Valerie is an inspiration.

Julianne was OK. I think she was in a damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation. If she was too tough, people wouldn’t have liked it or if she was too easy.

I didn’t even think about people not calling after Bill was deemed safe. Good point. I wish they’d put the true bottom two in the bottom two on elimination nights.

Knowing NOW (after doing a bit of research) that Julianne claimed mental and physical abuse by (one or both of) Mark’s parents, Shirley and Corky Ballas, when she trained with them in London as a junior competitor, her comment was apparently vindictive.

I didn’t really take her comment to Mark as vindictive. Every internet “review” I’ve ever read of the show has complained that Mark really “shows up” his partner by choreographing fancy steps for himself while the contestant basically stands there. I think Julianne just said what everyone else is thinking.

My opinion about the bottom two not being revealed is that a couple weeks ago, it would have been Bill Nye and Valerie. I think it would have looked terrible to put the two oldest contestants side by side like that, so they mix it up. Once they do that, they can’t revert to the true bottom two or it looks like age discrimination.

I don’t think Julianne would be taking out her anger towards Mark’s parents out on Mark; he had nothing to do with their actions. And he always does all the crazy footwork and stuff, it’s just his personality.

I thought Julianne was a good judge, and her comments were helpful.

What really struck me this week was how heavy Amber is, and how much it handicaps her. She is fortunate in having a nicely shaped face and nice legs, which enable her to disguise it to some degree, but it isn’t good for her in the long run. She doesn’t need to be slender, but she desperately needs to lose some weight for her health’s sake. There is a reason why her knees are bothering her at such a young age, and it is a shame.

I thought Julianne did well. She gave the kind of constructive criticism she said she always wanted when she was competing. Bruno’s blathering is no help, Len can sometimes be too technical for non dancers and Carrie Ann just cries, screams, etc. I thought Julianne was a refreshing change.

Mark always tries to outshine his partners, thank goodness he finally stopped all the mugging at the camera. I can tell he’s tried to really pull it back the past couple of seasons which is so against his personality. Now most of his routines he’s trying to make edgy and artistic…trying because it seems he tries soooo hard. His celebs would probably be better off learning real technique.

I hope this is a wake up call for Amber - while Glee is trying to push that it’s okay to be whatever you are - it isn’t healthy. A woman in her young 20’s should not have those knee issues already and losing weight is really in her best interest.

Crazy results tonight. Does Sabrina Bryan come to mind???

Yeah. A bit. It’s a shame she left so early…

I am really a bit less impressed with Elizabeth (the girl who was on Saved by the Bell…is that correct??) than I thought I would be. Her feet and legs during that jive were pretty sloppy, I thought. I just expected more…

Love Amber but thought she was overscored. Not a fan of Snooki herself but she was great last night!

Wonder if Cristina got fewer votes because she was partnered with creepy Mark?

I was surprised and disappointed, but that’s how it goes, and yes, it harkens back to the Sabrina Bryan vote off. I don’t find Mark creepy, tho, and enjoy his routines. Perhaps his dance partner has little fan base; I’d never heard of her prior to the show. I totally dislike Leah Remini and thought her performance was dull and would have preferred different results.

I, too, was less than impressed with Elizabeth. My favorite dance of the evening was Corbin’s. I haven’t favored him because he has previous dance experience, but I was mesmerized by his dance; the song, the costuming, the style was all there.

Amber and Jack did well, too and I was also impressed with Snooki. I never watched Jersey Shore, so I have no other impression of Snooki than the one I see on the show, and she has some good dance moves and a bit of attitude that serves her well.

I think Cristina has a weak fan base. I read elsewhere that viewer votes are 50% of the total, but I am not sure if that info is correct. It does seem that some strong dancers get sent home “too early” (Sabrina and Cristina). Snooki is a good dancer and is working hard, but I find her annoying in the clips from practice and in the live interviews. I am happy Jack and Bill are still in; I love an underdog! I find Elizabeth’s wide eyed expression very distracting and I agree that her Jive was sloppier than the scores reflected.

Agree with everyone on just about everything. Mark must be so mad that with great dancers he can’t get any further. Cristina does not have a voting fan base.

Elizabeth’s height hurts her. Snooki’s lack thereof probably helps her.

Am loving Bill. He’s what the show should be about.

Anyone else notice Amber wearing a knee brace?

They focused on her knees last week. They showed her having a procedure done to her knee. Maybe water removed?

What I noticed, and sorry if it was already discussed, was Amber mentioned that she was rejected at her American Idol audition. I wonder what that screener and the producers are thinking now LOL.

Oh, yeah, Elizabeth’s wide eyed look just makes her look a bit…not sure what the word it, but I’m not a fan of it, either.

I liked Christina so much better on DWTS than I ever did on her backroom hosting gig.

I really think that they should bring back the “half-point” scoring paddles. So many 8.5’s were scored as 9’s last night.

I also thought it was ridiculous to have Len give Amber a 7 and Bruno give her a 10-- content or no content.

^^Yeah, and isn’t the content of the dance more Derek’s responsibility than the star’s (in this case, Amber)? It seems a bit much to dock the star for that.

I was shocked & sad that Christina got voted off. She is so much better than at least a couple of contestants still remaining. I think viewers votes count for too much!
