Dancing With the Stars....here we go again

Cristina was so dang annoying in her “Sprint Sky Box” gig on The Voice that I’d have a hard time voting for her no matter how well she danced. More annoying than Brooke Burke, though somewhat more competent. (I still think Brooke Burke is possible the least competent/intelligent host to be found on a tv show, at least since Khloe Kardashian got kanned by the X-Factor.)

Note–I hardly watch TV and don’t know these contestants outside this show, so I tend to judge them on their dancing, not on preconceived notions about their (possibly annoying) personalities! :D

mommusic…same with me. I barely watch TV (exception for this show and special events) and so the majority of the contestants are new to me, save just a couple I knew of. So, I tend to judge it on the dancing too!

I totally agree. I can’t stand her. That mindless giggle! I’m very glad she’s gone, although she didn’t deserve it. Next to go: let’s hope it is Leah. After that, it’s anyone’s guess.

I thought Elizabeth and Val were great last week and underscored then, this week they were overscored.

I agree on the Brooke Burke assessment; she’s the Stepford wife host. Bland, bland, bland.

What I didn’t understand was why they made the announcement at the beginning of the show that a ‘female’ contestant was going to be voted off. What was the purpose of narrowing it down among the candidates like that? Seemed odd.

I kind of like Brooke. Just compare her to Samantha! [shudder] She is pleasant, gracious, and decorative without hawking her physical wares, and she serves as a good straight man to Tom. She also is pleasant to the contestants, and doesn’t feel the need to try to strive for attention.

I really enjoyed the group dances. I was so surprised when Snooki was sent home. Anyone else irritated by the injury drama? I understand that this show is tough on people and that there are some real issues, but every week it seems like uber-dramatic showtime decisions about performing. And, next week: CHER??? I guess the producers think she will draw in viewers. I think Leah should go next, then Bill. I read elsewhere that Bill’s partner dates Snooki’s partner in real life.

The group dances were so much fun!

Surprised by Snooki being voted off…was sure it would be Bill or Leah.

The whole evening was entertaining and I thought everyone had a good, solid performance. Both group dances were excellent. For me, Corbin stood out a bit more than the rest. Even Leah looked and danced well as did Jack. I’m not a big fan of Peta’s celebrity, I don’t know his name or who he is, so I’d have preferred he went home. I liked Snooki, never saw Jersey Shore, but I liked her on DWTS. But that’s the way the cards are played.

I also like Cher coming on. I’m a fan, not a mega-fan, but I admire her range of talent and longevity. The longevity especially, she’s been around forever and that impresses me. Plus multi talented, having a Grammy, Emmy, Golden Globe and Oscar. You go, girl.

I loved the group dances and watched the Foxing Awesome group a couple of times.

I think it will be fun to see Cher next week.

I was sorry to see Snooki go, but at this point in the show, I hate to see anyone leave when they’re all giving good performances. Oh, yeah, persistent injuries…yawn. Anything to try to drum up the drama. I just tune it out. I also hit the mute button any time Brooke is on there (sorry to the poster…Consolation…who likes her, hey, you’re definitely entitled to your opinion so don’t mind me). But the first time I hit the mute button when she was talking, my husband was surprised and said, “Did you just hit the mute button?” and I said, “Yes.” and he just kind of chuckled.

I’m a little tired of Carrie Anne having malfunctions every time she jumps up to hoot and holler about something, breaking a paddle, dropping stuff, falling out the chair (okay that was last season, but is she trying to re-create it again this season?) I liked it better when Carrie Anne sat furthest from Tom & Bruno was closer. But maybe they moved Bruno because he was always trying to cop a kiss from anyone who’d give it to him, male or female! lol…anyway, I still like all the judges. But they do seem more generous with their scoring this year…I personally think they got a ‘talking to’ from the producers who told them to lighten up so people wouldn’t be turned off by their criticism. I sort of preferred how they used to be, I’d hate to think they had to change their ways for ratings.

I really think that Leah is being consistently over-scored and should have been gone by now. Her movements are leaden, and she doesn’t seem to have a bit of energy or musicality. Snooki didn’t deserve it, poor thing. (I’ve never seen Jersey Shore, so I have no idea what she was like then.)

Carrie Anne seemed to be high last night, and even more annoying than usual. :)

What’s going on with Len Goodman. For the SECOND time this season he will not be in his judging chair during next week’s show? Cher will be taking his place, having just been a guest mentor on The Voice.

My vote for the most annoying judge goes to Bruno… hands down.

Edit: Loved the opening number choreographed by SYTYCD regular Mandy Moore (?).

I am enjoying all the extra dancing this season by the pros…the opening numbers and all the short dance numbers as lead ins and bumpers…

^ I’m not liking all of the short dance numbers as they appear to be trying to “sell”. I think DWTS numbers are probably going down over time and so they are trying to change things up a bit and having sexy women doing sexy dancing is the current MO. And then Tom acts all hot and bothered.

I love Corbin. Leah needs to go and then Bill. Elizabeth is doing a great job but I don’t really like her.

Bruno is the reason I won’t let my S watch DWTS… he’s very inappropriate, but I find him very funny. I do wonder why Len is going to be gone again. I also agree that Carrie Ann has been extra theatrical this season.

I’m very pleased with Val as a partner… he has done a really nice job and he definitely isn’t his brother, but I miss Maks and I hope we’ll see him again, but I’m doubting it.

OK, so there ya go…

I. Am. Not. At. All. Happy.

What happened? I was watching the Voice and tried to catch the end of DWTS to see who went home, but I was too late.

Brant and Peta. Bill and Leah should have gone first.

Oh. I agree–he should not have gone yet. I can understand Bill being popular, but who the heck is voting for Leah?

And who is voting for Elizabeth?
