Dancing With the Stars....here we go again

And who’s voting for Leah? Sympathetic Scientology space aliens, silly!

I think the judges are scoring Leah way too high. She draws in some star power (JLo, Chelsea Handler) so I think the producers want her around for that, so they tell the judges to go easy on her (my opinion, but I’m sure that’s how it works). I belong to another forum with a thread about DWTS, and no one there cares for Leah, either. Yet somehow she keeps getting voted forward.

Overall, the season seems lackluster. Cher’s judging was lame; I appreciate and respect her accomplishments and contributions to the music scene and that the show paid homage to all of that, but she didn’t necessarily add anything to the mix last night. I didn’t mind that the one celebrity got voted off. I guess the ones I’d like to see in the semi finals would be Corbin, Amber and Elizabeth. But overall, a dismal season compared to others.

I haven’t voted yet this season, but I just did this morning with a Facebook app. No votes for Leah.

I’d be voting for Elizabeth if I could see the show when it aired.

I agree: Leah is being over-scored and should be gone.

I was disappointed to see Brant go. I think he is quite good.

Leah doesn’t do much for me either.

Amber is very good, though I did not think last night was her best and I was surprised to see her get the highest scores of the evening.

Corbin was excellent and is consistent.

Add me to the list wondering about Leah. She is a markedly worse dancer than Brant. Bill is weaker too. However, I think Bill is very appealing to those of us of a certain age. And he is a different kind of celebrity; I feel like we could be neighbors and that he probably drinks Bud and watches football on Sunday afternoon. Not so much with Leah. Jack got on my nerves a bit last night. Yes, he is improving, I always like an underdog, and confidence is good, but he seemed quite full of himself last night. Amber, Corbin, and Elizabeth seem destined for the finals. They all came in with significant dance experience. I guess I am hoping for Amber to take it all; that Derek sure gets good partners. I agree with posters above who think the judges over/underscore with ratings in mind. J-Lo and her beau in the audience was good for some star-power audience shots. Does ABC have a connection to Cher’s recording label? How is she qualified to be a judge? I did not love her over-produced sound either, but did like the use of her older music. I remember watching the Sonny and Cher show when she was not quite so tweaked.

I thought at first she was getting the anti-Scientology vote, but that’ll only get you so far. I’m guessing all her high-profile friends are tweeting to vote for her.

I agree that there’s something unlikable about Jack. At first I just thought he was kind of shy and awkward. But, hey, the guy has MS so props for him doing this. And I’m convinced Cheryl could make me look good. She really has the Midas touch.

I just can’t watch the show in real time anymore. I watched the full two hours last night and felt like it was 4.

Well, I am the opposite: Jack is growing on me. I love that he is suddenly feeling more confident and loves to dance. Amber remains my favorite, though.

I’m watching now…everyone’s completed the first dance. I’m very irritated with the judges. Amber was great; they gave her 8s. Leah comes out, was boring, barely seemed to move her feet, they gave her 9s. They told her she was a ‘contender’. Ugh. I loved Elizabeth’s dance but they scored her low. Corbin was equally good, but Carrie Ann and Len scored him same as they did Leah. No way they are both in the same league. Toni gave him a 10. Jack got all 9s. He seemed stiff and unnatural and how did he score higher than Amber? I would not be happy if Leah ends up in the semi finals. I have already voted via Facebook, two votes each for Amber, Corbin and Elizabeth. That’s who I want to see in the semi finals.

Okay, I just saw Leah’s routine where she’s imitating Carrie Ann, Toni’s imitating Toni and the other guy is Len. I have to admit, it was very clever and the two guys did great imitations. But the only reason they got 9s was for the gimmick, the dancing wasn’t that great. For anyone else, they don’t give points for the gimmick. I guess they sort of had to give higher points or they would be seen as poor sports. I could tell the judges liked the concept.

Corbin’s second dance was incredible. He looked like one of the pros instead of one of the celebrities. I thought Amber would win the whole thing but I can see him taking the mirror ball trophy. Amber’s knees may not hold out long enough for her to win the finals.

I missed most of it. Again, not happy with the result.

I am done watching this show. Tonight’s results are just stupid.

Omg Val and Bill in jeapordy. But cut off Val. Why why why.
I dont like the Bill. Who is looks like old rack. And LEAH remini too, she is good artist. Not skilled dancer,i wish instead of Val, Bill or Leah Remine.

This season soo messed up, ****ed up. To be honest

Normally, I don’t miss the show, but I was mad after last week so didn’t care as much this week and went to a mtg. Bill looked like he was going to cry. He knows he’s way overstayed his welcome. The show is so rigged that it’s not fun.

The show is totally rigged. How could flat footed Bill stay on, while Elizabeth and Val get kicked off? And they had just won 10s from all three judges! Guess each week’s who-gets-kicked-off has to be interesting or else people don’t watch through to the end.

Yes, something is very off this season. Too many of the better dancers leaving while we are left with sub-par performers going into the semi-finals. It makes for a lackluster show. Bill’s routines, while cute, are getting stale, more of the same with him over and over, and his huge Willie Wonka bow looked ridiculous on him. I think they were trying to make him seem cute, an old guy like him with two young sexy chicks, so he didn’t look like a pervert. He handles himself well, but I’m ready to be done with him.

Also, if you look at Amber’s first routine, how she covers the whole dance floor with all her well-choreographed steps, and wows the crowd, then watch Leah’s dance where she takes tiny, careful steps in a safe routine, there’s no comparison, but she gets higher scores from all the judges than Amber. The judges tell Amber she’s set the bar so high for herself they have to score her lower. The voting is way too subjective and very off balance. They’re letting Leah get away with everything. Don’t like it.

I agree with those commenting on the judging. I think there is not enough “room” to differentiate between 8s, 9s, and 10s. And, as much as I like Bill, he really should be gone by now. Leah and Jack too. The judges were amazed Elizabeth was sent home. Has the show ever said what percentage of the score is fan votes? I think Corbin will win. He looks like a pro. He and Amber are the best remaining, but I think her knees may affect her performances. Although, I would think she has the bigger fan base because she is on a current show.

Bring back the half-point paddles!
