One thing that’s interesting this season is that there are some currently popular people dancing, the season closest to having real stars. Amber is on a hit show that’s still running, and Leah had a hit with King of Queens in this century, unlike so many of the other “stars” in the past. Bill is really popular in some circles. I mean, I actually knew almost every one of the dancers this season, except Brant, and he was a pleasant surprise.

OMG I am so ticked! Why is bill or Leah still on?i think it’s great that audience votes count, but how much do they count? Amber was robbed last night. I think no one expected her to dance as well as she did from day one, because she is a big girl. So now she is being penalized because she performed well from the beginning.

Bill is still on because people are voting for him! It’s as simple as that.

I am not a huge Leah fan either. And Corbin is so good it’s kind of unfair. But he is a lot of fun to watch!

Amber has been my favorite from the beginning…I hate that her knees are so bad. Not surprised, though, because weight has so much to do with that. I struggle with knee issues myself and I know if I get my weight down, it gets way better!

I haven’t watched last night’s show yet, and learning here that Elizabeth and Val were eliminated means I think I’m done for the season.

Sounds like it might be time to tweak the rules and have a “judges’ save”, similar to that on American Idol.

jshain, yes, that’s a great idea~

I’ve watched every season and am completely disinterested in this one. Between the inclusion of 2 ringers (professional dancers) and the ridiculously skewed and unfair judging, they have made the show virtually unwatchable.

I’m okay with allowing audience votes count, but by what percentage/weight? It just becomes a popularity contest; they’re not being judged on dancing ability. (Remember Bristol?) To think that Elizabeth/Val were kicked off, but flat footed Bill stayed on is just preposterous. (Sorry, but who is Bill?)

And yes, it’s a shame that Amber’s knees are achey. That’s related to weight issues. And while I enjoy watching her dance, it’s Derek’s choreography that makes her look so good. He’s simply outstanding.

I was unable to watch last week’s episode, but read what you guys all wrote about it and do think the voting situation this year is nutty.

Anyway, I know this week’s show is going on right now and I’m watching. It is just 3/4 of an hour into the show. Ok, I can’t wait to comment until it is over. :)

Leah? She does nothing for me. Her dance just wasn’t that good. Osborne (forget his first name at the moment) was barely dancing…Cheryl was fabulous but if you focused just on watching him, he was doing the most basic things. Bill? He also was barely dancing and just not good this week (he is not that good overall but this week was very weak). Corbin’s dance was outstanding and I think he was underscored! Amber and Derek were excellent overall and a unique dance.

All I can think of, however, this is the semi-finals? Three of the five dances/couples just were not good and worthy of this late in the season. There were better couples who were eliminated earlier on. At this point the only people left who are any good are Corbin and Amber.

I am watching and totally agree. Cheryl was great in that dance; Jack, not so much. And Bill? Yeah, no.

OMG, Leah’s last dance was ridiculous. My dh looked up and said, She’s barely moving.

Please tell me two get booted off tonight. And that they’ll be Bill and Leah.

OK, I really liked Bill’s tango.

I find it interesting that Kevin James, who played Leah’s husband in King of Queens, never made any kind of appearance or spoke on her behalf during the show. She had so many other celebrities in her corner, but she was his leading lady for almost 10 years on a tv sit com, so wonder what he thinks of her?

Okay, and she’s off, finally voted off. She always seemed like she was allowing Tony to do all the work, like it was his priviledge to dance with her. So glad she’s gone. Bill’s first dance was pretty hard to watch, he was better in the second when he was more serious.

Amber----girl is on fire! Her first dance was my favorite of the evening.

It’s pretty amazing to think that last season, the 4th place winner was Aly Raisman…and this time it will be (I assume) Bill. What a difference in ability!

missypie, I was thinking about that too. Last season in general had such strong dancers. I don’t think anyone still in it this year could have won last year.

edited to change that. I think Corbin is the same level. Even though Amber is very good, I don’t think she has the same level moves that Kelly or Zendaya.

I’m not really watching this season but am getting updates here and I have no idea who the majority of these people are.

Now Leah has left, it may be safe to start watching again next week. :)

Here’s a really revealing question. The show is called Dancing with the Stars, but who is Bill? I don’t ever remember seeing him before. And he’s so goofy. That may be because of what he wears, but I’m amazed he’s still on the show. He must have a huge fan base.

Once Elizabeth and Val were kicked off, I decided this show is a total scam. It’s not like they were so superior, but clearly they were better than Bill or Leah.

To me, Corbin is tops. He is so fluid and has such smooth rhythm. Amber looks strong, but that’s really because Derek is a fabulous choreographer.

I looked at the cast list and I have no idea who Elizabeth, Amber, Corbin, Keyshawn and Brant are. My mom likes the redneck comedy stuff so I have seen Bill.

Have to agree, there were several for me as well: Amber, Bill, Brant, and Corbin. Also, what makes Jack a star… because he’s the son of Ozzy and Sharon?
