<p>When I called to vote for Meryl last night, about 50% of the time I got a message that the number was “no longer in service.” Not a busy signal, or the call cannot go through at this time, but actually no longer in service. I know I was dialing the right number, because I was using the redial button–sometimes it worked, and sometimes it didn’t. Did anyone else get that message?</p>

<p>I am hoping Meryl and Maks win, but I think it will be Amy and Derek. The whole “inspirational” thing will take her over the top. </p>
<p>I would be happy either way although I am pulling for Meryl and Maks - Amy’s quick step last week made me well up a bit</p>
<p>I was impressed with the aerial dance part of Amy’s freestyle. Has that ever been done before by a contestant? Just a quick google says aerial dance is a sub-genre of modern dance, and I would think it takes physical stamina and bravery to accomplish the act. I don’t care what anyone says, with her physical handicap, she is beyond impressive and I ALWAYS tear up when she dances.</p>
<p>As for dance couples hooking up, I think that stuff goes on allll the time. We only saw Amy’s boyfriend make one appearance and she alluded to some ‘problems’ they were having earlier in the season. It wouldn’t surprise me if she & Derrick were an item until the show ends and I think he’s hooked up with a number of partners over the years. Maks is a new man because of Meryl, and this might be the first time he’s felt OLD as Meryl is at the peak of her physical and mental athletic abilities. </p>
<p>I really hope Meryl wins. I hate to say this, Amy pretty much sat down for a lot of her performances. Don’t get me wrong, I get it, but to me it was really more about Derek’s choreography. I really think Meryl and Maks were something special. No clue how Candace got this far - watch her win.</p>
<p>The judges don’t want Candace to win - their comments and scores were not good on either dance. She has a voting block though.</p>

<p>I think Maks’ comments about Derek knowing “the system” were telling. Maks is now combing his hair to look more boyish/softer, and he’s changed his demeanor to match. I suspect it’s all part of learning “the system” and creating a more vulnerable narrative. Of course, I’d love for the romance to be true, but I suspect it’s not.</p>
<p>That said, they are fabulous together. Derek is an amazing choreographer, and Amy is an inspiration, but I could watch Meryl and Max all day.</p>
<p>ETA: I’m mad Candace is there and James isn’t. I also like the sexual chemistry between him and Peta, who has no poker face. On elimination nights, she looked constantly nauseous.</p>
<p>I agree with first and 2nd place. I’d have put James in 3rd and Candace in 4th. </p>
<p>I think the reason Maks’ demeanor changed was due to his partner this season. The episode where they were having trouble communicating and she quietly said, “Look, hold my hand…” and then they proceeded to work out the issue was a huge turning point for him. She was also his physical equal, perhaps better as she is younger and he, tho certainly still amazing, is somewhat past his prime due to his age. They were amazing together. I was unhappy last season with too many changes, and now this season has been one of the best ever. </p>
<p>I think Amy did deserve to be there in 2nd place and at first I had mixed feelings about her not winning. Some don’t like Derreck winning all the time, and say he always gets the ‘best’ partner. Yet look how far he took Amy and at the get go no one would have said she had all that potential. And Derreck always gives us entertaining routines.</p>
<p>I hated the final show . . . too much random c**p for 1.5 hrs. I ended up needing to go to bed before the actual new dancing started. It didn’t start until 9pm in our time zone. I-) </p>

<p>I wasn’t pleased last year when he won the first (I think the first) Choreography Emmy, but this year I certainly think he deserves it. He has always known how to make a partner look good and this year he did a great job of figuring out what Amy was capable of. That’s not to take away anything from Amy…as I said, she is amazing. It takes a special kind of personality to be willing to try lots of dance moves, knowing that some may just not be possible but to keep trying what her partner suggests and working at it until they find the magic formula.</p>
<p>But Meryl…I think if it was the old days of Hollywood, Meryl would become a big star, likeSonja Henie. </p>
<p>It will be interesting to see if Meryl branches out more with the dramatics after this. He skating has always been so self-contained . . . perfect but self-contained.</p>
<p>I was sorry to see that Amber Riley has put so much weight back on. She looked pretty good when she was on DWTS last year. I had hoped she’d dance last night.</p>
<p>I was happy that Meryl and Maks won but Peta and James should have been in the finals.</p>
<p>A good chunk of it is fan base and when I finally gave up and googled the results before heading to bed the top several sites that carried the results were undoubtedly skewing towards Candace supporters. [-O< </p>

<p>So happy Meryl and Maks won! I lost it when Maks started bawling after the free dance (they showed it last night). And when he said he would dance a 100 more dances with her. Oh my! It got to me. </p>
<p>I want there to be another all-stars and I want to see Meryl and Maks again. Amy too! She is so amazing! </p>
<p>I read on Yahoo (so it has to be true–lol) that Maks and JLo are seeing each other. What celebrities do normally does not matter one bit to me, but that news kind of made me want to throw up! </p>
<p>New cast announced today, I cant wait to see"Carlton"(Alphonso Ribeiro) !</p>
<p>Saw the list - I know none of them except for Betsey Johnson - would know none of them by face alone!!! Was I reading that “Carlton” was on before???</p>
