OMG Rumor Willis!!! My new favorite!
I love that Demi and Bruce are there!
I think Riker is the guy to watch. Will be interesting to see if he can do a foxtrot next week.
Hope Robert Herjavec loses the fake smile. Michael Sam had nothing on Herjavec in the fake smile department.
I’m hoping Bruno will be able to show more restraint this season.
Why would Derek put a lift in his choreography. Added nothing to the routine?
Rumer was terrific, along with Nastia, and a good showing by Willow.
My money is still on the gifted athlete (Nastia) in this marathon of a competition. Rumer will make her family proud but it’s hard to bet against a world-class athlete whose kicks are comparable to a Radio City Rockette.
The part where Nastia and Derek supposedly found out they were partners was SO fake. I’m sure negotiations to get Nastia on the show stipulated she would only do it if Derek was available. That’s why she was a late entry.
I lost interest an hour and a half into the show. Did anyone expect Patti LaBelle to do anything more than what she did? The show’s formula is tiresome. Put Mark with a young gal. Give Derek something to work with. Stick a Member of Motown royalty in the mix as well as a football player and veteran and so on.
I remember the earlier days of the show when they didn’t use all the gimmicks until the free style. Now, it’s back up dancers, wardrobe changes in the middle of the routine and the bed of a pick up truck right off the bat. They want to pull out all the stops from the start.
I will look for Rumor’s dance Online as I missed it. I am thinking maybe they should not start with so many contestants from the start. It gets draggy.
Yep - it would be nice if they left out some of the “production value” early on so we could just see them dance. Nastia and Derek didn’t have much chemistry though. I hope Rumer smokes them! I’m also tired of the Huff family reunion thing.
I hadn’t watched in a long time. I thought the addl pro dancers and props made the guests look that much more limited.
Rumer was a nice surprise. Watching for Nastia, although I agree about the lift. I felt a bit sorry for the veteran because no one really critiqued his dancing. I know that the critiques will be different for him, but tell him something to work on early in the season…I doubt that his goal in coming into this is to be “inspirational.”
Also, I think they should spot him(Noah) some points; after all, he is missing and arm an a leg. It’s only fair.
I had missed Derek and Nastia, but just now watched it. What’s with Derek and his exaggerated “Wow” expression? It got tiresome.
And as much as it was great to see all of those kicks by Nastia, I feel the DWTS casting crew needs to move away from gymnasts and dancers to give it a fair shot to the other contestants.
I thought Rumer did a superb job, highlighting some grace rather than campy expressions and glitz.
Agree - I prefer to see the non-dancers blossom and learn
What is the world coming to when Lin gives the highest score?
Man, they were brutal to Chris. The curse of going first again.
I don’t usually vote, but I want to vote for Noah. Don’t they usually put the number on the screen after each performance? Am I not seeing it? Is it my TV? Do tonight votes count toward elimination?
Never mind, it’s there during the dance!
They WERE brutal to Chris! But everyone seems to be doing so, so much better than last week! That Riker guy is awesome and of course Nastia and Derek were wonderful as well. Can you imagine their schedule??? Rehearsing all week in NYC and taking the red-eye out to LA on Monday and going back on Tuesday?? Goodness.
Wow! I did not expect that elimination.
Pleasantly surprised that I was entertained tonight. It seems a number of couples have some nice chemistry/charisma together. Kym & Robert…he’s cute. Tony & Suzanne…both nice and tall, she’s amazing at 68. Sharna & Noah…she’s finally got a partner she can show off her sexy with. Allison & Ryker, wow. He’s beautiful to watch. Nastia and Rumor had commendable routines, no surprise.
But what about Patti LaBelle? I was laughing while watching her and said, “I can’t believe she is dancing so damn good!” My husband said, “I was expecting her to start singing.” To which I replied, “no, she’s a contestant!” I was so impressed with her performance.
I thought the song made it especially difficult for Chris to stay on the beat.
They really need to bring back the half-point paddles to avoid the matching total scores or having to score too low or too high.
What a difference a week makes for most of the couples!
I thought the voters got it right…
I kind of did expect that elimination when they gave him kind of high scores…I thought maybe he was leaving and they wanted him to feel good about himself. I also think they were giving Chris a reality check…like “you’d better take this more seriously…you WILL be going home if you don’t!”.
This week, my heart goes out to Kao. He deserves a better partner. Also, hate to say it but Michael is dancing like a girl to me. And totally disagree with Lin. Riker IS one of the strongest dancer. Okay, back to the show.
