Dancing With the Stars....here we go again

I love their energy together without concocting a fake romance. They were both just really genuine and open.

This if the first time I didn’t think the freestyle had a clear winner. I liked all 3. I’m guessing Noah for the win, Rumer 2nd, Riker 3rd.

I wonder if the amount of time it takes to get through to vote means anything in regards to who will win. I voted for Noah and got through right away all five times. Even though Noah is my favorite dancer, I would be happy with whoever wins.

I was not able to watch live but watched all the dances online this am. I really, really hope Rumer wins. While being a strong partner is difficult, being the FEMALE in a partnership like this and pulling it off gracefully is much, much more difficult. I thought all three dances were great…but Rumer for the win!

I was traveling last night and didn’t see the show so I just watched all three dances on YouTube, Noah’s first, Rumer’s last. I was in tears the whole time for Noah. He really brought it to the dance floor in a way that emotionally astounded me. The music was a bit odd sounding to me, but I guess it had meaning to him, I will have to re watch and listen.

Riker was good and visually appealing to watch. His music selection was also a bit odd sounding to me. One other thing I didn’t like: Allison on there almost a bit weepy saying “I would have never made it this far without Riker”. Wait a minute. It’s not about her winning or getting far. It’s about her partner.

In the end, I think Rumer is the best technical dancer of the three. She looked oh so fabulous last night, her black ensemble looked incredible on her. I think she will win and deservedly so. On a side note, looks like the daughters favor their Mom Demi as they sit with her and not with Dad Bruce and his wife who looks like a younger looking version of their Mom.

I agree @churchmusicmom - to a degree a guy can stand there with his arm out and a nice frame and let the female pro do the heavy lifting with leg kicks and flips.

I must have missed it if it was mentioned, but I heard tonight that it Rumer and Val recorded the version of “Toxic” that they danced to – she was singing and he played the violin. She’s not only a great dancer, she can sing, too!

I just learned that, too! I’m so impressed! What a great grand finale tonight is. Is it just me, or did having BOTH movie stars Bruce and Demi in the audience make ABC really ramped up the entertainment value tonight pulling out all the stops?

I loved how excited Rumer’s sister was after her dance.

At least they got third place right.

Yeah, when the Rumer and Val’s dance was introduced, Tom B said it was Rumer singing and Val playing the violin. Not sure about that last bit…

I think ABC ramps up the entertainment value of the finale every time…but they did enjoy having Bruce there with the whole “Dance Hard” thing. Bruce seems to really be enjoying seeing his daughter dance. She is amazing!!!

They have announced 3rd place and now i am rather anxiously awaiting the announcement of the winner!

Yea!!!

Well, hooray!!!

Okay, spoiler alert, anyone who hasn’t seen the results yet, don’t read any further posts till you do! Discussion on winners coming up!

It came out exactly how I wanted it to!

So, as said before, DWTS always gets the winner right. The whole season was much better than anticipated. I thought Riker really shined tonight, quite sexy and debonair. I hope for good, no, great, things for his career.

Tonight was the best Erin Andrews ever looked. Her dress was gorgeous. Seeing all previous contestants was fun. The buxom blonde commercial girl was in a lot of camera shots. Patti LaBelle wasn’t too happy with a strand of her pearl necklace wandering over to hug her right bosom while she sang. It doesn’t look like Demi is capable of much natural expression, apparently too much Botox. Suzanne Summers looked better dancing without fruit on her head, that’s how she should have been presented in the first place.

I guess Robert and Kym are a real item in real life. Boy did she luck out. Sharna’s true spirit really shone thru this season. I loved her. Allison brought some new life to the show with her own fresh, creative ideas and that’s a good thing. I really did love Riker’s freestyle.

The dance Derek and Julianne did to Sia’s song makes me speechless, the two small children dancing the same routine…just wow. Plus I’m a fan of Sia’s music. Also loved seeing my gal Amy Purdy’s back dancing with Derek. She recently got engaged to her long time boyfriend. Happy for her.

Wow, an action packed show. That’s entertainment!!!

I agree that Derek and Julianne’s dance to the Sia song was amazing…I wish they’d made more of a big deal highlighting the kids, though. They were beyond incredible!!! Every bit as powerful and emotional as Derek and Julianne.

I’m so glad that Rumer won. I am with Len on Riker. I love watching him dance, I love his energy and he makes me happy. He is incredibly talented. What I didn’t see from him so much was actually taking on the movements and spirit of each style. He continued on with his bent leg, happy feet, boy band modern style with each dance. Yes, it is infectious and fun to watch but he got sloppy on many and didn’t carry the appropriate lines and movements to “sell” each style. Rumer started from scratch and was able to infuse her dancing with her personality while executing each style as it was supposed to be danced.

To wrap up, I really wish the pros had better served Willow and Suzanne. They could have shone more without the stupid, distracting costumes and props week after week. That’s where Val did a great job in just letting Rumer focus on the actual dancing instead of getting bogged down in production value. Sharna gets bonus points for her compassion and creative choreography. Charlotte STILL can’t dance. They treated her unkindly with the stereotypes but she doesn’t help herself out by playing into them. Left Shark is a more adept dancer when it comes right down to it.

saintfan, I agree with all your assessments, and oh yeah, I forgot about LEFT SHARK!!! Loved that he made an appearance…lol, comparing his dance skills to Charlotte…

I was giving this WAY too much thought on my way to work this morning and came to this conclusion about Rumer. She was a “star” only in so far as she is the child of her parents and has always been in the public eye (much like Bristol Palin - who was also in the news this morning). Bruce and Demi were the Brad and Angelina of their time and people were and still are really nasty about Rumer regarding her looks. In contrast to Bristol, in the “packages” that I saw she talked about lack of self confidence and outside criticism but I felt like she moved well beyond the external “haters gonna hate” schtick and really made it about finding her internal self worth and confidence. To me she came off as introspective but not whiney. I felt like she handled the personal part and “story” really gracefully and that was reflected in her dances as well. She really grew into herself and I didn’t get that "people don’t like me because I’m . . . " vibe from her. That joy and positivity really came through in her dances the last several weeks.
