Ok, here’s a spoiler alert…don’t read my next post if you don’t want to know yet who was eliminated tonight.
I tend to favor Riker just a little, but would still be happy to see Rumer win. Noah should have gone home tonight, I think he’ll be third runner up. So happy it’s been a good season, and as always, have enjoyed reading all the comments on this thread of ya’lls opinions.
I couldn’t be happier!! It’s not just about the dance. It’s about the spirit that goes into the dance.
Yeah, except that for this show it is supposed to be about the dance. There have been many many enthusiastic competitors who have battled limitations, whether it’s age, size, or just purely not having rhythm. Yet many were really “spirited” …just hurt to watch them!
This show is not like “So You Think You Can Dance” where it’s “America’s favorite dancer”, and not necessarily the best one. Noah is certainly an inspiration but there is only so much he can do…and I hate that we don’t get to see Nastia and Derek in the finale. But in the end, it’s all about popularity and how do you not vote for a guy who just proposed on live TV? (though I figured that out for myself.)
I’m eating a fresh batch of leftover Easter Peeps to drown my sorrows but hey, these aren’t the auditions for the New York City Ballet (or the Olympic Trials ). It’s a TV show.
@churchmusicmom, I must disagree. Clearly DWTS is at least 50% about America voting for a favorite dancer, and not the best dance; otherwise, Willow would have gone farther and Nastia would still be in the running. Otherwise, the viewer’s vote wouldn’t count. The producers would just leave it to the judges’ technical scores to decide the winner. So this show is also about America voting for their favorite dancer, not just the best dance. If Noah can win the majority of the votes, then he should win and I really hope that he does.
I think it’s the best/favorite dancer within the range of abilities. For instance, I would prefer Rumer to win, I think, but would be OK with Riker because their strengths, while different, are comparable. Noah is out of the reasonable ability range to win, though, yeah, he might get more votes.
I also wish we could see Nastasha and Derick compete next week I’m sure it would have been amazing!
She never caught fire for me. She is good but somehow for me it didn’t translate into caring and rooting for her.
If Nastia had made the finals (instead of Noah) I would have said, with conviction, the best final-3 in the history of DWTS.
I liked Riker’s brother’s song and dance. Definitely, Riker & Rumer have the heart and soul that Nastia seems to lack. One thing Nastia didn’t have in her favor was that measure of either heartache or struggle in her life. Yes, dedicated to gymnastics, but won a gold medal. Plus gorgeous. Her perseverance paid off. With Rumor, she’s been bullied about her appearance. Riker is still taking chances to find that pot of gold. Noah made huge sacrifices for his country.
DWTS always seems to get it right with the winner. I don’t think it’s Noah. When JR Martinez, former Army serviceman, won the mirror ball, it was his dancing skills that wowed everyone, not just that he’d been in the military. Noah doesn’t wow me like JR did.
We all know, tho, that it comes down to the freestyle. Mess that up and you not gonna win. Plain and simple. The mirror ball hinges on how you wow at the end.
I am also disappointed in Noah. His dances have been limited in scope compared to every other dancer who has progressed past the midpoint in the show. I’m bored with what he can do. This is a dance competition, not a who did the most with their limits competition.
Wondering what Noah will do in the freestyle. His lifts have been amazing but how to incorporate that?
I thought Riker’s freestyle was all over the place - didn’t like it at all. Rumer and Val were flawless in both of their dances. But tonight is the first time that I thought that Noah could actually win this. That freestyle was very moving and I think he might get the popular vote.
I got to say, I loved Riker’s freestyle. I didn’t care for Rumor’s dance. I’m more a fan of high-energy dancing. Noah’s free style was awesome. I think it will come down to Noah or Riker for the win. Tomorrow night will be interesting, no?
I loved Noah’s freestyle and thought Riker’s was kind of hohum - it didn’t do it for me. Now waiting for Rumer.

I loved Rumer’s freestyle, but it was a bit of a gamble. Usually, it’s something up-tempo. Boy, I hated Riker’s music, but liked the routine. Just not feeling Noah.
Took me 40 minutes to get through dialing for Rumer.
