I guess Ralph and Karina had some snide comments to make about the judges after they were voted off. (Karina said if they wanted to be the stars of the show they should have auditioned to dance like everyone else). Shame they could not have been gracious, lowers my opinion of them both. I liked Ralph until the last couple of weeks. Personally I think they were the right ones to leave (though I do think the 15 point giveaway was inappropriate in a show that is supposed to be based 50% on audience votes).

Agree–15 point cha cha didn’t work for me.

Tom is indeed a superb host. He is always witty and good-humored. He has a very nice way about him. I’m sure most of it is scripted, but he does give the appearance of being able to ad lib quite brilliantly.

Brooke is very pretty, but other than that doesn’t add much to the proceedings. On the other hand, she is MUCH better than her predecessor, Samantha. Samantha shared her inability to do a decent interview, but had one of the most annoying voices on TV.

I just wanted to say a word or two regarding the hosts as I have been to numerous tapings of American Idol and went to the final taping of last season’s DWTS.

Ryan Seacrest does not say a word to the audience if the camera is not rolling. As a matter of fact he leaves the stage and one of the production assistants comes out to keep the audience warmed up during the breaks.

Tom on the other hand was always talking to the audience during commercial breaks of DWTS. He was extremely friendly to everyone. Brooke does not say one word either unless the cameras are rolling.

You’ve been to tapings of BOTH shows, showmom858? Very cool! What other shows have you attended?

Absolutely right, when I get annoyed with Brooke, I have only to think of Samantha, and any annoyance disappears.

Aww. I liked Samantha MUCH better than Brooke. To each his/her own, I suppose.

ellemenope - These are the only shows I have been to tapings of recently. I have been on the list to get tickets to So You Think You Can Dance for ages and have never been offered tickets. Maybe this summer I will get to go. I have everyone in the family’s email in for tickets yo Idol and DWTS, and this season no one was offered DWTS tickets and my D who is in college in NYC was the only one offered Idol tickets. We were offered tickets to X Factor for last week but were not able to go.

Very cool…

any predictions? I wanted chelsea to win but mark ruined it for her. His attitude and lackluster choreography did not make the best of the immense talent he had in his hands. Kim was much more skillfull with hines. A poll I saw this morning titled “who do you want to win” on an article had Hines leading by 50% over chelsea and kirstie who were tied with each other.

I am in Oklahoma where we are having bad weather and all the channels except one are just showing weather and tornado warnings . The one not showing weather is showing American Idol which I have not been following. Looking like I will miss the Dancing with the stars final. I’m bummed.

Right now it’s just the recap, so maybe they’ll switch over at 8!

They did. The weather has calmed down a bit. It was very bizarre watching some of the storm chasers - we actually saw the shot as it happened where the telephone pole snapped off and was floating in the air in front of the stormchasers car- I was shrieking like a looney just watching it on TV.

I think Hines will will. I actually think Chelsea *should *win, but I think her partner’s attitude may have lost it for he.

I don’t have strong feelings about who wins so will be happy whoever it is. I think they each are worthy winners for different reasons. Kirsty is for sure not the best dancer, but I have been soooo impressed by her and am now a big fan. She is older than me and I could not do what she has done. SHe’s looking pretty good as well.

Well that was different. Not sure the outfit suited him.

Actually I want Kirsty to win. If the lines were open now I’d vote for her.

WOW. Kirsty deserved that 30. She truly did. As big a chelsea fan as I was, her v. waltz was better the first time. And now Hines’s about to do my favorite dance of the season!

I’m fine with either of the three winning. Wow. Best 2nd night of finals yet. All three got perfect scores. Almost makes up for having the worst freestyles of any season.

I really would love it if Kirsty won. I have not voted, but she is my hero right now…

I didn’t think Chelsea deserved her 30 last night on the freestyle.

Down to Kirsty and Hines. I would love for either one to win, but everyone expects Hines. He had a higher judges score, but as we just saw with Chelsea, that wont necessarily work if you cant get the votes. Based on a viewer poll I saw this morning, Hines is far above the other two in terms of popularity. Mark Ballas must be furious. I hope he learns to stop being a jerk. He went from charming with sabrina, kristi, and shawn, to being pretentious with chelsea. It made her, in turn, seem pretentious. he also made flawed mistakes with his “hip” choreo. Trying to follow in derek’s steps by making a pretentious transformation, but without any of Derek’s choreographic ingenuity.
