Danielsen Hall

Yea so my first two choices were warren and west because i obviously wanted to be around the majority of the freshmen but I got Danielsen. Forgot which choice it was but it doesnt matter because after warren and west I did not know much about the other dorms to make an informed order of choices. Can anyone give me a review? How far away is it from CAS (walk)? Will the distance make it harder for me to make friends? How are the conditions? And finally if i were to try to transfer to Warren or West will that be extremely difficult and if not what are my chances for a swap etc.?

Give it a chance. It is farther, but it’s a nice dorm with a reputation for being a good place to live. There are other freshman and sophomores. It’s in the real heart of Back Bay, where the condos can cost in the millions.

its in a really nice area so you’ll be close to the actual city and stuff like that. the walk is a bit farther… idk maybe 15 minute walk to cas? i’m not sure so don’t take me on that, but west campus people have that same walk too. the rooms are much nicer, you have a kitchen in the basement and your own bathroom. it probably won’t be as social as a freshman dorm but everything is what you make it. you probably wouldn’t have too much trouble finding a sophomore or junior in west/warren who wanted a nicer dorm so definitely try that if you’re set on switching! they post direct swaps on a board somewhere in every dorm

Yea of course i wont switch without seeing how it is first.

Don’t forget the BU Shuttle that picks you up and dumps you right off in front of Danielson. Nothing beats that in a super rainy/snowy/icy day.

Depending on which room you have, it could end up being pretty huge. I lived there last year and my roommate and I had a corner room that was pretty big and had 2 closets (one was kind of small, though). Plus we had a bathroom that was attached to our room and the room next to us. So it was nice that we only had to use the hall bathrooms if someone was already in ours.

The walk to CAS isn’t bad until it gets really icy out. It’s generally about a 15 minute walk. Plus there’s always the BU Shuttle. I never took it, but my roommate took it almost everyday.

I also saw a website a while ago with good descriptions of every residence hall does anyone know of it? I think it may have been a BU today article or mini website.

This one?
