I’m going to be honest and not claim I got fives on all my AP exams like others. (If you actually did do that, take it easy on me.)

GPA: 97 unweighted on 100 pt. scale
Class rank: Not given, but I’m in the top 3 of 70.
Courseload: Fairly tough (6 APs and a dual enrollment), though my miniscule private school does not offer many APs to begin with.
Projected SAT: 1400ish?
Extra curriculars: Student Council Treasurer, Eagle Scout, 3 years of varsity tennis, two years of JV basketball, student ambassador, chess club, 100 hours of various service for Sophomore and Junior years, pharmacy technician at CVS.
Essays: They will be great. I’m also thinking of composing a video (Legally Blonde style
I’m Caucasion, which doesn’t help . . . but I’m extremely good looking!

Where do I stand against fellow Penn applicants?

I’d say you have an okay chance of getting in but the college admission process the past few years has been a crapshoot. The best advice that I could give you is to apply Early Decision, penn really likes to know when they’re your first choice and their acceptance rate is much higher (I think around 50%) for ED.

wow 28%? thats pretty low. for 2008 and 09 I think it was around 40 or 45%. I guess it makes sense with how many more applications there were last year. The college admissions rate to top schools last year was pretty much a crapshoot, and I couldn’t expect any better this year. If you really want to go to penn, just ED and hope for the best.

Do you think that applying ED and being from Latin America might help gettin in? I know it depends on stas/recs/essays… but besides that… will it help?

Is there anyone who knows the acceptance rate for international students ED?
