Dartmouth Class of 2029 Official Thread

First, let me clarify that this is my first post on CC, but I’ve been following this platform intermittently since the beginning of my daughter’s senior year. Naturally, my first post would be about portal astrology, which I’m fully aware lacks any substantial value. So, let’s just say that I’m curious and completely open to any possible outcome.

I take screenshots of the Financial Aid portal as a way to stay updated on the due dates. However, some posts on this platform suggest that certain changes in the portal during the late stages of the review process may indicate that an application is still being considered. I have five universities where subtle changes could support this possibility. After being waitlisted at UChicago the other day, and this being one of the schools where I inadvertently took a screenshot of an updated portal and noticed a late change, I can’t help but wonder what this means for the other universities.

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced similar changes in their Dartmouth portal. I want to share the picture but I’m having trouble uploading. But pretend I did, since the post is already written…

Let’s compare the screenshots taken on January 16th and February 18th. On the January 16th screenshot, right above the checklist, there’s a general message explaining the Financial Aid process. I have several missing financial aid items, including FASFA. Apart from midterm transcripts, I haven’t received any additional messages requesting information, including aid.

Now, let’s look at the screenshot taken on February 18th, a few days after they uploaded my FASFA and tax transcript (which was already in my IDOC documents). This portal also includes a verification request and my documents are all uploaded. Anyway, above the checklist, the message explaining the Financial Aid process has disappeared. Instead, I receive an email instructing me to contact the financial aid office with any questions. It’s possible that this message is visible to everyone or only those whose checklists are complete. However, I’m curious if anyone else has noticed this change and if it varies depending on the university. If this is the case, it could indicate that some applications were still undergoing review at the time, while others had already concluded.

When I discover how to upload it I will.

Out messages are different

Feb 18 is still relatively early to deduce anything and that Dartmouth email was added for everyone. So int his case I would specifically suggest to wait and see. Maybe you get another request in these last few days.
