<p>Who gets to go on the week trip to Florida in December?
Who pays for travel and room and board at Florida?</p>
<p>I know that Dartmouth pays for everything but I am not sure who gets to go.</p>
<p>I just heard form my son- he hasn’t heard anything definite yet but he assumes that all the freshmen will go to Florida. (This reminds me so much of high school rowing- no one seemed to know anything until the last minute.)</p>
<p>Does your son know if he is rowing at the Green Monster?</p>
<p>Not yet re: the Green Monster-but fingers are crossed. I think he might have a shot based on the competitions. How about your S?</p>
<p>Heard the trip details to Florida today. Open to all crew members - $250 plus meals for 10 days.</p>
<p>I finally talked to S tonight. You’re absolutely right- there is a charge for the Florida trip. Oh well…</p>
<p>I also heard from him that they are flying into Miami but flying out of Ft. Lauderdale (he doesn’t know why) and that they will be responsible for arranging their flights home. </p>
<p>S seems pretty confident that he’ll be rowing in the Green Monster but I don’t know when they find out officially. He thinks that there will be two men’s lightweight freshmen boats so that would mean 16 of them are rowing.</p>
<p>Are they staying at a college in Ft Lauderdale? ARe there any links to the details of the trip? </p>
<p>My s thinks he’ll get to row on Saturday - but says he won’t know for sure until Wednesday. He is happy he found an all you can eat brunch on Sundays - I guess the whole team ate at together yesterday. They lost money on my son - he didn’t stop eating for the whole 90 minutes they were there.</p>
<p>My son said he doesn’t know where they are staying and doesn’t think there is any information posted online. He also doesn’t know when it actually ends so we can’t make plane reservations for him yet. He “thinks” it may be Dec. 22. It is so frustrating trying to get any concrete information!</p>
<p>Below is what I have from a weekend email from the coach to my son - but I think everything is being finalized tomorrow. I did a preliminary check of flights - and they are inexpensive right now.</p>

<p>Depart: EARLY on December 12th from Manchester Airport and land in Ft. Lauderdale, FL</p>
<p>Return: You can take any flight leaving from Ft. Lauderdale after 12pm on December 20th. We will provide transportation to the Ft. Lauderdale airport from Miami Beach. If you are leaving from the Miami Airport you must pay for your own cab. The return flight you are responsible for booking and paying for as well.</p>
